I think if its possible, could you highlight things on the screen to indicate locations? Like right at the start when you get the "deploy your survey ship" mission, when you click accept have it highlight the command panel button
and then go from there, step at a time
you could probably do with more explanation on the FTL, it tell you can do it on the hints but doesn't really go into detail about it. I thought for example it would auto do it but I was still within the system so it didn't do it

It mostly does that, with very slight delays. I'll recheck that specific objective in case it's broken.

also, the spaceport objective completes as soon as you place it, not as soon as its completed like i'd expect

One balancing issue I'm having is that running at normal speed, it takes a while for the FTL drive to charge up.

It will take 20 days to complete and the tutorial wraps up around day 10.

maybe have it so objective 1 is to place it
objective 2 completes when it completes
then have an objective to trade

I think maybe the speed should be adjustable?

and what about the other 2 tutorials or are they not ready yet?
also, might be worth mentioning hovering over a units name to get its stats so you can get the FTL charge level since it takes a while

Some of the text and process have been updated for version 0.777 and later.
