Re: 3D modelling
I agree, it took me much more time to learn how to use the app than doing what i wanted. Now the problem is that i forgot most of what i learnt XD heheh, hopefully i don't have to change any model again (that sword i mentioned was so ugly and plastic-looking that i just couldn't take it anymore).
BTW, nice looking FV4201 Chieftain tank models! i like so much to see camouflage variability, and in this case they have a touch of dirt that makes them look very realistic

USS Thresher SSN-593
For the record I started this before the latest set of documents related to her loss was released 5 days ago.
Also yes I have read the transcripts of the Sea Wolfs search for Thresher.

Re: 3D modelling
A couple of new and a couple of old reshaded submarine models together with Thresher. Not planning on doing anything but basic shading for the old submarine models that lack this.
The models should be roughly to scale.

Re: 3D modelling
Mil Mi-24 Hind now with most basic details done. Naturally still needs a basic as well as regional variants.
The model is a fairly early variant of the Mi-24 (most source material is of the D variant). Later variants carry two Dsh-30K instead of the nose mounted Yak-B 12.7mm rotary cannon. The wing mounted missiles are likewise the 9M17 Phalanga that is only used up to the D variant.

Been some time since I last posted something. In any case here is something I have been working on.
Naturally not all of it is finished.

Re: 3D modelling
right row (attack boats) front to back.
Scropene class (no particular boat)
USS Skipjack (reshade of existing model)
USS Thresher
USS Nautilus
USS Narwhal
USS Cheyenne (688i - reshade of existing model)
USS Seawolf (reshade of existing model)
Left row (ballistic missile boats) front to back
USS George Washington
USS Von Steuben (Lafayette/James Madison class)
Type 092 "Xia"
Type 094 "Jin"
USS Maryland (Ohio class - reshade of existing model)
The reason I picked Von Steuben over Lafayette, James Madison or Benjamin Franklin (all are related designs that are visually fairly similar) can basically be explained by this photo.
Nautilus and 094 still need some detailing. Von Steuben need a bit more than that. Scorpene might also get a bit more attention but compared to the others it is less critical.
