Hi!
I searched in the forums and i didn't find this bug.
I select Transport aircraft, i give the order air patrol on top of a pocket in which my units need supplies. The transport aircrfat go there, resupply the units, but they never come back to patrol after resupplying in the air field/base.
However, when i patrol with interceptors, they actually comeback to patrol after resupplying in the air field/base.
Well, i think this bug is important, because we always need to provide supply to advanced units.
I'm keeping the saved game, so when you give me the ticket number i send it via e-mail?
I still didn't try with other types of aircraft. So i'm going to do that now and if i find another with the same problem (for example with multirole), do i create a new topic or do we include it in this topic?
Thank you in advance
[BUG] Transport aircraft ordered air patrol and they don't come back to patrol after resupplying

After testing with other types of aircraft, it looks like they don't have this problem.

I've never noticed this happen, so i've done some testing to see if I can replicate it.
I have tried the following things and haven't been able to replicate it:
1) Use a skytrain transport in air patrol over friendly territory.
2) Use the skytrain and tell it to patrol beyond its maximum range.
I'll do some more testing tomorrow night. If you've got something else to suggest to try, i'll give it a go.
Maybe its flying beyond the maximum range but you have no friendly bases close enough for it to refuel and so it just cancels it? I think i've seen that before especially when using helis. Maybe you could tell me what planes you are using and then look at its range and the range from the nearest airbase and the patrol length.

As you said in the other bug topic, I tested it locking the aircraft from the minister, and this time it worked. But it doesn't work if the units are controlled by the minister at low initiative (or at any initiative).
However, as i mentioned in the other topic, we still have issues, i repeat them here:
1) The transport aircraft only goes back to the airbase to resupply when it's out of fuel, but not when it's out of supplies in the cargo. So, they are flying for along time over the units without supplying them until they run out of fuel. This is forcing me to select them and send them to the airbase manually, since the ground units are stuck without supplies despite having a bunch of transport aircraft on top of them.
2) When they comeback from the airbase to resupply the ground units, they come back only with the cargo filled at 60% more or less. They should wait for their cargo to be fully filled before going to supply the ground units. This, coupled with the first issue, are making the transport units very inefficient and you need lots of them to supply a few ground units.
3) Since they have to be locked from the minister to come back to escort, they don't go to repair when they are damaged. And they are damaged very easily with ground AA, enemy aircraft, etc.
Thank you for all the testing

Any final opinion on if this is a bug or design flaw?

Well, according to BG team (username: CeaganP), instead of being a bug it could be a limitation in the AI capabilities, because as fas as i have understood, when the unit gives a supply order it overrides the existing patrol order?
See his post in this forum as a reference:

I'm not sure about this, because only BG team can confirm, but this problem looks similiar to that one i pointed out in the mentioned forum.
