BattleGoat Announces Official Release of Supreme Ruler 1936

Post by George Geczy »

May 9, 2014 – BattleGoat Studios is today pleased to announce the official launch of Supreme Ruler 1936. David Thompson, Lead Designer and Co-Founder of BattleGoat commented, “This is our most ambitious title to date and the scale of the game is truly immense. There are thousands of historical events that may or may not come into play depending upon the actions of the player; players need to watch their economy, diplomacy, and even weather patterns floating across the world that could turn a potential battlefield into a muddy or snowy quagmire; and when they go to battle they have access to the historical military units of WWII and much, much, more!”

With four Campaigns, six Scenarios, and three Sandbox Maps playable from almost 100 different regions, Supreme Ruler 1936 brings the scope and sweep of World War II to strategy gamers. A Real-Time Geo-Political Strategy game, Supreme Ruler 1936 combines resources, economy, diplomacy, and battalion-level tactical warfare.

BattleGoat Studios would like to thank everyone that supported us through Steam Early Access and helped us to make Supreme Ruler 1936 the best game possible!

The BattleGoat team would also like to specifically thank all the players, fans, and interested folks that have contributed to these Forums over the past 12 years (!). The community of support (or, the support of the community?) that we've received for our releases, past and present, is what has allowed us to make the games that we have, and what allows us to continue developing new content, new features, updates, and more.

The PC Strategy Game niche has changed much over the years, however there have always been players that are looking for a more detailed, more sophisticated strategy game, and we're very pleased to bring Supreme Ruler 1936 to that audience.

As always, we'll be here, on these forums and on steam, to help where we can, to answer questions, and to listen to your suggestions and feedback. We can't always be everything to everyone, but we hope that our unique combination of strategy and simulation, of depth and detail, provides players with an engrossing, replayable, and enjoyable gameplay experience. Or to say that in fewer words: We hope you like Supreme Ruler 1936 !

With much thanks,

The BattleGoat Team

I had asked if there was a time frame for Update 1 in another post as my latest game has become untenable with all the annexations. I know you guys are working hard, but thought I would ask again?

As far as I can see the only way to purchase the non steam version is with paypal and something called amazon payments. Is that correct? No simple Visa or Mastercard option?

Von Bismark: A small update which includes the fix to allow colonization/liberation will be posted by the end of day Saturday (May 24).

GIJoe: At present Steam is our exclusive download source, since it allows us to much more quickly update and patch the game than other methods, though as you noted there are other ways to pay for the purchase. We are now available through GamersGate as you noted, and on our website we use the Humble Widget which allows payment through PayPal/Amazon Payments, including easy payment by Visa/Mastercard. Also, SR1936 does not require Steam to be online to run, so once you've downloaded and installed you can run in Offline Mode or even create a desktop icon to launch the game directly.

Sure, thanks for your reply but I am NOT going to install steam on my machine. I am but one consumer and you must chase the money, I understand that. We had a good run. 07

Don't give up yet, I keep advocating for a Steam free option. It just won't be this month.
