I am in the UK, and its 18.49 now. its British summertime so we have an extra hour that most nations don't have as I recall. So the difference during this time will only be 1 hour :)

My point exactly, you are currently GMT+1 so it is actually 17:51 GMT (http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/info/current-time/). I don't get why did they start so early??

Well, good luck with this, I'm out.

EDIT: I decided not to bother you on mumble as I don't want to join after the game has already started. I won't be joining in the future as I will never be able to play at 17:00 GMT/UTC, as it seems that is the time this game will be played and the time posted was a miscalculation.
Have a good game

Modified Original Post to remove any reference to ZULU. Please covert as required.

I also made a change in that I request all participants please have a BG forum account.

We had three participants and played about 6 hours. There were a few people that jumped in as if it were a "pick-up" game with no idea about the rule set at first, but for whatever reason the only one that decided to stay could not connect and he just left after the 2nd try.

There was also one person that jumped into the room and immediately typed "start". I booted him. (was not a known forum"ite") Try to have at least a modicum of decorum kids. :)

There are some interesting and surprising things happening, nations that usually are belligerent are silent. Nations that usually have a stale mate war show one firmly encroaching on the other.

The USA is trying to work on internal issues and modernize its' forces.

We have a 10% sales tax, with Unemployment/Pension/Property all at 2.9%. Infra and Education spending are maxed with all other services being at recommended levels. We have been at DEFCON 1 since shortly after game start, with Military Salaries and Maint/Training at max spending.

Numerous Ore, Uranium and Petroleum facilities have been constructed as well as starting a program to convert to 100% Nuclear power. 27 new Nuke plants have been started and plans exist for 200 more. All small and mid-sized facilities were scrapped and where required, full sized facilities built.

We wish nothing but Peace and Prosperity for ourselves and the world.

We started allied with Canada and since then have also allied with the UK. The USA has embarked on no wars of aggression.

Our Ally, the UK was given Most Favored Nation status concerning trade/arms and to some degree Technology. Consequently, shortly after this status was ratified, our first shipment of arms to the UK commenced with perhaps 100's of Mech. Inf. and Tanks transferred to UK custody with the USA asking for nothing in return.

At some point later the UK invaded and conquered Angola, which then lead to them warring with Congo Democratic Republic. This confrontation is currently undecided.

Across the Channel, Germany was flexing its' war might once again and opened a campaign against Iran. After securing transit right across Europe and through Turkey, whom they are allied with, they have been pushing steadily into Iran. At first it was a race between Germany, Turkey and Turkmenistan to see who could reach Tehran first. After some initial jockeying, German was able to isolate Tehran and has sole access to it. As yet the vast south and eastern deserts have not been tamed.

Although Iran was deemed a worthy target, the world still holds its breath, for many times in history the land of the Teutonic Knights have marched out and swept all aside.

Current save game file posted in first post this thread. I did load up as Brazil and built them a bridge up north where there is none, really hampers them. In reality there is a ferry there so crossing is not an issue but game does not simulate a ferry.

This session lasted three hours. Nothing noteworthy to report. The USA continues to modernize and update forces. More equipment, such as carriers and DD/FRGs transferred to UK control. The UK defeated CDR and is now fortifying and modernizing its African holdings.

We passed on scheduled game and played a "pick-up" game. There were 4 of us, no real rules, just pick a small(er) country and play. We played for about 8 hours.

Rasputin - Belarus
GIJoe - Nigeria
Eric(something) - Iran (Late joiner)
Patriot? - Syria

Was interesting, Israel was steam rolling alone, took out Lebanon very quickly, and then turned on Syria. They hammered Syria north and east capturing Damascus and eventually pushing the few remaining Syrian forces across the Euphrates River. Syria had moved its capital to Al Hasakah and were throwing everything they had at the IDF to stop them at the river. This line was holding... for now.

The IDF redirected it push East into Iraq, they were relentless in their drive. Eventually capturing Baghdad, Iraq moved its capital to Mosul. The IDF paused to repair and resupply. Meanwhile...

Syrian HQ received a message from a cut off division consisting of 8(ish) Mech INF brigades. They were alone and out of supply in the vast SE deserts. It was determined they were in a prime position to intercept/harass IDF forces heading back home to repair. Syrian forces were not just going to lay down and quit!

The Syrian units which had now made it to Tadmuriyah, the main artery from Iraq to Israel, dug in and tried to prepare. Soon IDF forces passing the city were ambushed by these forces, but supply was an issue. Syria barely had enough to support activities around the new capitol, much less keep these far flung units in fuel.

Turkey, seeing the IDF thrust into Iraq slow/stop assumed most of the IDF was stranded in the deserts of E. Syria and W. Iraq. Turkish forces crossed into Syria and pushed into IDF territory.

Once Turkish forces crossed over into Israeli territory, as expected it triggered the IDF AI to launch a massive counter attack. Syrian forces braced and hunkered down for it was they that would bear the brunt of the attack, as Turkey was attacking through Syria it appeared to the IDF it was Syrian forces.. Syrian Garrisons held the crossing at Ar Raqqah and when the IDF attacked, they simply brute forced through, Syrian garrisons dropped like flies.

Nigeria saw the plight of their ally and devised a plan. They bribed several nations to allow a single cargo plane to fly across their territory. The brave crew of the C-130H set out on a circuitous path till finally arriving at Al Qubayyat Israel, (formally Lebanon). From here, ironically enough, they started ferrying supplies to the stranded Syrian units which had now made it to Tadmuriyah and were dug in. Syrian HQ reports the first pass/drop of supplied moved the units from 4% up to around 90% or so. The Nigerians returned to Israel and flew another sortie, bringing the Syrians the much needed supplies/ammo and fuel.

Egypt, now seeing the majority of the IDF tied up in the far east and north of Syria launched its own attack on Israel. They pushed in, but where held roughly along the traditional border. Unbelievably they started counter attacking. The IDF was a machine, unstoppable, relentless. They pushed Egypt all the way back to the Suez Canal, even capturing the petroleum platform in the Gulf of Suez. At this point Saudi Arabia launched its own attack on Israel, they sent their small fast navy into the Gulf of Suez and captured the Oil platforms there.

The Eastern European action was similar and the African action was slow for a while, was a good 8(is) hours of game play.
