I was studying the units file and I found that buildings have missile size. What means that?
And the most of them have the index True in the fields strategic / tactical missiles.

Re: missile size
By 'building' you mean ships? It's the max size of the missiles they can carry.

Re: missile size
No no. Check the default.unit and you will see that towns, cities and other buildings have missile points.

Re: missile size
Perhaps.
Do you know if it is possible for buildings to engange ground targets like air defences engange aircrafts?

Re: missile size
If I had to venture to guess, it would act like a MLRS does. Which is not going to be the desired result for a ground defense system. Although if you where playing with the FOW off and had its range set to somthing like 15,000km, then it might be viable. Of course this is all dependant on buildings being considered ground units so they load ground missles. Also you would not be able to select the building to target anything. or to load or unload the missle, set its roe.georgios wrote:Perhaps.

Re: missile size
I tried to give ground attack points in the default.unit file. Is it possible to work?

Re: missile size
Abosulutly, a building with ground attack values will work. One of the things I have toyed with was creating a line of emplaced guns. Just dont forget to include range with it.

Re: missile size
How BG determine the size of the missiles?
just for know...
8010 PGM-17 Thor IRBM, Missile Point Size 10
8011 GAM-62 Rascal ALCM, MPS 10
8012 R-5 SS-3 Shyster, MPS 4
but PGM-17 is 19.73 meters for 49580Kg diameter 2.44m
GAM-62 is 9,47 for 8255kg and diameter 1.22
R-5 SS-3 is 20,8 m for 24400Kg and diameter 1,65 m
or maybe I'm making some wrong about "Missile Point Size"???
