Rhjyyz,
I'd be up for weekly or twice weekly for sure, and it would have to be the later timeframe. My job is cool but it does involve driving around all day.

As for hosting... I'd have to find out how much is connection, and how much is PC. My connection would handle it fine, but I'm not typing on a hotrod. 2.1 gigahrtz sempron with 256 megs of ram. but it has a crappy integrated vid card and network card. If anyone knows more about what would be proper to handle it let me know. ( I only know enough to get myself in trouble...):P

Your setup will work fine for most maps. I hosted the middle east map on a 1.8ghz with 256mb, and it ran fine. I've haven't seen much of a performance difference between SP and MP.

Alright, I had the "host network game" window up and responsive, so I think we are definately "go" for tomorrow eve. Unless a majority needs a time adjustment, it is scheduled for 8 PM eastern US time. (I know this timeframe sucks eggs for our European friends... I'll try and set up an earlier game in the near future on a weekend)

Looking through the scenarios, I ran across one that I had meant to play some time ago, but never did. Anyone have any problems with Adriatics? It would allow for amphibious assault if so desired. I'm not sure it would fill Red's craving for diplomacy. If my knowledge of the region is correct, their idea of good diplomatic relations is not raping women and children from captured villages before they kill them all. (yes I'm exagerating, but I don't know by how much :-? )

I'm going to fire the hosting thing up before leaving for work. Feel free to join the game to make sure there are no bugs on either end. Be aware this is not an active game...just a test before tomorrow.

Your 192 address is internal to your network, it isn't the one used to connect to you. And being at the host network game screen doesn't say anything really, you'll have no indication until people connect. You'll need to go to your router's control panel and either forward the ports which SR2010 uses (use TCPview or such after you start hosting, they change IIRC because it uses DirectPlay) or DMZ yourself. Maybe it was changed, but in previous versions that was needed to host.

It'd be best to have everyone in IRC if they can, for connection problems and changes and such, this room: irc://irc.efnet.net/sr2010 . Or, the Gamespy lobby.

http://ipchicken.com/ provides your IP address, even if you're behind a network.

Aye, I saw that. Good deal. I'll see about that IRC room now. Heck it has been years since I used irc, I don't even remember if I have Mirc on this box.

I'll leave the game up so people can "trial run" joining, so noone has any last minute connection surprises.

This is certainly coming together very well, I may even try and join in for a bit :)

Unless ppl quiting out early is not desired (with a 6 month old I never know when I'll be on diaper/feeding duties ;))

I can understand about the 6 month old... although mine is well beyond that stage. LOL you still never know when a full glass of juice will get spilled or some sort of band-aid type emergency will occur. It won't bother me as long as the AI takes over. You would be most welcome. :D

How do I get into a Mp game, do I just type the IP address in and click the computer icon?
