Find a launch pad (there should be two, one at vandenberg north of LA [west coast] and another in florida [south east coast]) they look, suprise suprise like a pad with a space ship on them. bring up its screen and select how many satelites and of what type, com sats provide somesort of military efficency boost and recon, show enemy units...

It takes about 13 of each, I can't rember exactly...

And once reasearched you can build missle defense sats that shoot down ICBM, but since the AI dosen't use ICBMs they are pointless, unless you play multi...

If by spy you mean covert ops, these didn't make it into the game...
All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.

so you need 13 sats to launch 1?

Also I have a mate playing on the demo. He has got 2 sat5s and 2 pads. He cannot launch them despite having lots of money. He has clicked on the launch button and it has a white box around it and they still dont launch. Is he missing any techs for it? Oh and hes playing madrid in the france scenario.

No.
He's saying he estimates that it takes 13 satelites to get a 100% coverage.

There was a bug with the way sats were launched that prevented one of the launch methods from working.
But you could still launch them 2 other ways.

Theres a thread in the bug section that contains a good explantion.

Ill see if i can find it.

read thru that thread and the one linked inside it.
