We could use the same type of message we get for ground units ,for space craft

Can you expand on this? George has a savegame where there is a message about "space engineer destroyed" and we haven't changed that in a while...

I have the next planet to be invaded under siege, some kind of enemy spacecraft spawns there on a regular basis ,and gets destroyed. The only indication i get is the energy weapon fire and the explosion when it gets destroyed. At least 5 of them so far, no message for any of them.

Oh, "unit destroyed" instead of "unit lost"?
I'm worried that could easily create information overload. It would create one message per unit destroyed. Thinking about planet based battles, that would be a lot of messages.
We could set the message priority below the default threshold so that players only see it if they lower their priority threshold, but when when they do the same concern of overload exists.
