Is micromanagement still a must?

It's been years since I last played SR2010, I sold my hardcopy back in 2006 Q1, I was wondering, is micromanagement still a must, or can you actually have ministers that take proper actions depending on the 'objectives' you give them?

I love geo-political games, myself being politically active IRL, but I simply don't have the time to play games that require alot of micromanagement, I am pondering buying SR2010 again because I can't wait for 2020, any input would be highly appreciated.

I'm a little unsure how to respond since in my opinion micromanagement was optional in SR2010. Ministers did take actions when you assigned them priorities. If you told a minister to decrease low income taxes or increase domestic prices he did those things. Further clarification of your comments would be appreciated.

I would suggest that you try the demo when it is released (should be right around the release date) since you played the first one, you'll know what to look for in the demo for the new game.
