I am in full agreement with Samuel. Has this ever been discussed? I don't frequent the boards as much as I used to, so it may have been.Samuel the Great wrote:Although to be honest, i'd pay Full Price for an expansion to SR2010 that expanded the existing features, put in the ones that never got put in, and added new ones. I'd pay double if it fixed the performance issues on larger maps.

Currently all of BattleGoat Studio resources are devoted to the new project. As previously stated, no more official patches are on our timeline. After more than a year on this project we simply can't hold back our ambition any more and there are things we want to make the engine do that are not possible without taking it offline and rebuilding it extensively, thus making it an entirely new game. We are however fully commited to continuing to make games that target a similar audience.
I still don't see there being serious performance issues . As I mentioned above on an average system I'm able to get comfortable performance with the current engine even with all settings on high.

livestock units. That was directed at me. It had to be. Well its true that in war u suppose to destroy everything. Now days the wars are more friendly. Course I don't like to see innocent ppl killed. As for performance. With my computer the game plays fine except when I'm looking at lots of units and cities and such. Then the game gets a little laggy. Not much just enough to notice it.

Sacred Cows
...I like the livestock idea - and total war is total war. You should assume that your opponent is serious enough about going to war to even kill the livestock. But I also like the idea of little cow or sheep icons popping up in the screen. Maybe they could license "la vache qui rit" or Borden's Bessie. "All us cows do our best for Jerseymaid." I suppose this wouldn't be so good if you were playing as India or Bengla Desh.
Colorless green ideas sleep furiously [but otherwise, they do not worry and are happy].

Well true about India. Actually i read somewhere that in ancient wars they did kill the livestock with everything else that could be killed. That's total war. And one time on the forum I think some of the members asked for a goat unit to be put into the game. If I can find the thread I post it. But keep in mind it got really silly. From charging goats and sheep to exploding cows.

“Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword†(1 Samuel 13:15).
And Amaziah strengthened himself . . . and smote the children of Seir ten thousand. And other ten thousand left alive did the children of Judah carry away captive, and brought them unto the top of the rock, and cast them down from the top of the rock, that they all were broken in pieces†(2 Chronicles 25:9-12).
Geneva Conventions, Schmeneva Conventions... They didn't mess around in ancient times. (and No, I'm not religious enough to have these on the tip of my tongue. I ran across a website full of old testament quotes the other day and remembered what it was because of Berg's signature.)

I wasn't really concerned about the performance issues. I don't have any serious problems on the larger maps. I'm more interested in an expansion like Samuel suggested. I know I'm willing to pay $$$ for one.Balthagor wrote:Currently all of BattleGoat Studio resources are devoted to the new project. As previously stated, no more official patches are on our timeline. Well I'm confident in the game. Been playing it since I got it. I think there was a mind control program added somewhere in the game. I can't stop playing it. So mind control is the only way to explain Y i still playing the game. That or I like the game alot. Not sure which one to pick.

Well, SR2010 has a lot of unexpressed potential. I'd really have wanted to play at its maximum...
This was your first game and I'll give you credit once again, but this time I'll not pre-order the game (play the demo, first).
However, I wish you good luck with the new project.
