Announcing... Update 6 !

Post by George Geczy »

Yes, the good times just keep on rolling...

Version 4.6.1

New Missions
-->Operation Sand Storm … Taken from Today's Newspaper headlines - Launch a secret operation to destroy an Iranian Nuclear Facility.

Game Improvements / Fixes
--> Military AI Garrison of Large Cities no longer overrides ‘no military initiative’ setting
--> Improved AI handling of damaged units and ‘loss tolerance’
--> Correct Multiplayer sync errors with Govtype changes & multiple languages
--> Units will no longer surrender to air units and missiles
--> Surrendering units now lose their ammo
--> Command Units no longer surrender
--> ‘Self-Resupply’ of Cargo units adjusted
--> Fixed ‘Repair to 100%’ issue with some large units (ships, tanks)

We would also like to take this opportunity to inform the Supreme Ruler community that this will be the last major update for SR2010, as we now shift our resources to working on our future projects. Stay tuned for more details and exciting new announcements in the coming weeks!

If you use the check for updates link in your start menu you should find it. Plus, if you already have update 5 and use the check for updates it will grab a much smaller 5->6 patch instead of a full update 6 patch.

You guys are the best, that was very fast, sad to hear that this is the last update for SR2010, sort of an end to the tradition of waiting to see whats next...

Come on give us one hint as to what you guys are doing next to keep us going...

Personally, I hope your next endeavor will allow for more intel/targeting type operations.

Thanks for the updates and the outstanding support to this forum and those who have spent alot of time playing SR.

 The Future games could be anything. But i'm hoping something of a modern game like SR2010. Not sure if I rather like it as a more future type or before 2010. Though I would like to see a game timeframe between WW2 and now. But that's up to the BG's to decide. Their the ones making the games. And thanx for a update that isn't 13.8MB. It took me only 20 mins to download verus 2 hours for patch 5. Hey I got a crappy connection.

"Surrendering units now lose their ammo"

When you say this, your talking about the units that defect right ?

If so,doesnt this make the defections even uglier.

I mean they are bad now,but at least they can go down swinging now.

Wthout ammo, wont they just try and retreat their way out, getting plastered all the way by the enemy units they pass ?

:o :o :o This is great! Very excited about the upcoming title. 8O

I have one question though. What is a "command unit"?

You find them used in a few of the missions, most of the time its "protect your command unit destroy theirs" or "Get your command unit to ...." there is one in the new mission. Go to your capitial city and click on the stack of units there, it is in that stack.

One thing i hope for the future is that this kind of short missions will be
intergrated into a large campaign game.

 Sand Storm is kinda hard. Can't take territory, got a limit number of units, and only 2 months to complete it. But its fun. :D I wanted a challenge.

Indeed 'challenge' is the right word for this mission...
