This bug has been resolved in the new update 9.2.5, which has been pushed up to Steam on the "insider" build. All Mods will now remember the path of their elements after a game has been saved and reloaded. If the mod has been removed in the meantime (or the save has been sent to someone that doesn't...

To be clear the lack of SSL in the website ("Not Secure") is not related to leaking of data such as passwords, at least not unless you are accessing in a public location where wifi or connections can be "sniffed".
