Re: Syrian civil war: Assad is clearly winning
Removing a regime hostile to Israel? Of course the Americans don't want to lose their puppet state! Awww, poor poor Americans! Don't want to lose moneys :(((((( You want to remove Assad because he is hostile to Israel and you want to replace Assad with a group of Islamist terrorists who are even mo...

Re: Syrian civil war: Assad is clearly winning
Why does the USA care so much about Syria? What business do they have there? Did somebody mention oil? Russia has a monopoly for supplying natural gas to Europe. Qatar wants to build a new natgas pipeline to Europe, through Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Syria is in the way. Being a friend of the Russian...

Re: Wish List
It has been suggested before and we have indicated that we still fill the battalion is the right size for our forces. There are no plans to change it for this or future titles. That's very disappointing. :-( I just popped in today to see if SRCW addressed any of the major issues of SR2020 or SR2010...

Re: Supreme Ruler 2020 Global Crisis ---New Features Part 3
You are asking how to control 400+ Russian battalions, well now you know what it is like being a commander, this game aims for realism. It does take time to get used to it but do u expect to be able to learn how to do the Chief of Staff's job in one day? A Chief of Staff doesn't personally issue or...

Re: read this on how to make the game
Just stumbled upon the HoI3 Dev Diary myself. I was trying to figure out whether I wanted to take another look at SR2020 or simply wait for HoI3 and make a "modern day" mod. Both choices would involve heavy modding on my part, so it comes down to my impression of the underlying engine. This post on ...

Re: Air units DO NOT WORK
Every unit does have some simple AA support.. Even if its a bunch of guys firing .50 cal machine guns into the air.. You put enough bullets in the air.. anything at a low level will get shot down.. (F-117 in serbia as an example) Plus almost every unit will have some organic AA defence.. MANPADs ar...

Re: Uinstalled...
I played the demo for about a day before uninstalling it, and won't be buying SR2020 for a good six months or so (at least). Just browsing the forum for the past week (I've been away all summer), I've noticed: 1. Equipment list that is largely similar to SR2010's. This is mostly a personal pet peeve...

Re: Too many civilian casualties?
I agree, casualties are way too high. They were too high in SR2010 but I felt it was a fairly minor issue and didn't think much of it. The current conflict over South Ossetia might provide some good data for this. If I'm not mistaken, both sides have bombarded civilian areas. The Georgians have empl...

Re:
Ultimately the issue for me was that I would spend a few game years building up my country and then suddenly I'd be ready to build up a national armaments industry and the game as is would not really allow for it. If a random African country got its act together, and actually industrialised and man...

When can we get our hands on the units CSV file (or whatever has replaced it)? Though there are a couple of manual steps in the process, in SR2020 editing data such as th Unit Specs or even starting units for regions (Order of Battle) is easier than it was in 2010. All the source csv data files are...

Hmmmm, very interesting. I think what you are basically talking about is delineating "Areas of Operation" and then assigning units to them, which orders to do a certain action within that "border". So if we take the "land highlighting" functions from SR2010 (which I've almost never used) and use it ...

I've been away from the forums for a while, and it looks like I've missed out on some important events/information.. I'm another gamer who names virtually every ground unit in order to keep them organized. If I pull one or more battalions back for repairs, I don't move their parent brigades anywhere...

Re: Unit control and Cohesiveness
What you did was give orders to your regiments like "attack," "defend," "support defense," "move to," ect, along with certain geographic objectives. The AI would then do so while doing its best to maintain the regiment as a cohesive unit (meaning that certain slower units included in the regiment w...
