Re: 3D modelling

Found out i had a FV4201 Chieftain sitting around.

All I have had to do is make a M regional texture and adapt that as a default. The Z regional variant already existed.

Re: 3D modelling

I know of Milkshape 3D though I have never really used it. From what I understand it is mainly intended as a low-polygon modeller for games and the like. I actually started with a program called Moray which is just a GUI for a program called PovRay. PovRay is special in that you basically type your ...

Re: 3D modelling

I have not done that much recently myself. Got a few other things going on and I have been sick.
It looks like more than it really is due to most of those models already having a decent amount of work done on them.

Re: 3D modelling

It is more than just an exit hatch it is the hatch to what is effectively an infantry compartment. I have seen statements that the Mk.2 can transport up to 10 soldiers though most sources say 6. Still that is basically comparable to a Bradley, Ajax or Puma. This is however reducing the ammunition fo...

Re: New Italy units

Neither of them really have a dedicated infantry compartment so I would not consider them mechanised infantry. Tank encyclopaedia calls the first one an armoured car which tends to be recon units. Armour is a bit on the thin side compared to say British great-war tanks so maybe that is fitting thoug...

Re: 3D modelling

The question though is how much will actually be visible. Still that is not the main concern when I make these. I have not had much time to work on these recently but the Merkava IIC have been beaten up a bit and had some dirt thrown onto it. https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/4750336460390400...

Re: 3D modelling

Currently my plans is to upload the files to the repository in a dedicated folder with minimal testing done and gradually get that done. Once I think it is unlikely there are issues with them they can become a proper release. That should offer the best of both worlds. Also I think keeping each set i...

Re: 3D modelling

Lider kinda exist in a limbo of "maybe it is cancelled" so the project might be "done" already. That said I do not think making a model of it will be that time consuming. These stealth paper warships are fairly easy to build compared to less stealthy real world warships that have a tonne of details ...

Re: 3D modelling

If you want something modern and Kirov sized with that kind of firepower then I have already made 2 fictive vessels. https://i.postimg.cc/g2XxX3LF/capital-ships.png 1676 (rear) is a guided missile battleship and 1683 (front) is a large guided missile cruiser. The cells are most likely Mk.41 and ther...

Re: 3D modelling

CG(X) concept style guided missile cruiser. The vessel is probably around the size of a Kirov class missile cruiser both in tonnage and dimensions. https://i.postimg.cc/T29rkFg0/CG-X-concept-01.png The vessel is mostly based on a mixture of the Zumwalt class and some concepts for CG(X). Given that C...

Re: 3D modelling

Ultimately I do plan on making one just as I would like to make more Merkavas and in general more IDF vehicles.
It will however not be right away. AFV's take a long time to make. Only warships really take longer.

Re: 3D modelling

Here is the aforementioned Merkava. Specifically it is a Merkava IIC.

There are still details missing and obviously the vehicle is not intended to be brightly red. That is just my standard work-in-progress colour.

Re: 3D modelling

Yes I really should update that document. I keep forgetting. My own private design document is not even fully updated I think. Part of the problem with warships and tanks is that I tend to focus on details that are probably not strictly needed but that I want to have anyway. Spending a few hours try...

Re: 3D modelling

Sleep has never been amazing with Windows but I will say it is 10 times worse since S0 become the new standard. S1-S3 was at least passable but S0 is utter trash. It is not really sleep either. M$ calls it "modern standby" and "low power idle" which really is more fitting than when windows says "sle...

Re: 3D modelling

My desktop actually had no issues at all with update 20H2 other than it for some reason my ethernet connection was not set to metered so Windows decided to bring the computer out of S0 sleep, install an update, restart the machine and then happily leave it humming at the login screen for some reason...
