World Market Diplomacy

Post by MattC »

I seem to have a problem with every single one of the games I start ... the -only- option I have under the World Market tab under the D of S is the basic information about its friendliness towards my country, and whether or not I'm a member. There is no option to conduct diplomacy with the World Market. According to the manual there should be, and I've double-checked every time to make sure that yes, I am a member, but no diplomacy options exist under the World Market tab. Is this a bug?

This is covered in the readme file. Some elements shown in the manual changed by the time of the release version.

That is correct. The WM treaties did and a touch of atmosphere but did not work well with the game mechanics. We will review this in the future and see if, like the covert ops, a redesign can make it work and add it as an additional feature.

The World Market may however offer to trade you or give you money, products, units, technologies or unit designs.

Covert Ops and World Market Treaties where two separate sections. Which one are you hoping to see return most?

WM treaties. Would be a good and concrete way to alter region's status with the WM. It could also help to "polarize" maps, like the "WM sycophants" and "evil rogue states."

Infinite missiles storage is not part of the design. We might look at making it "moddable" at some time in the future.
