I built my first FTL survey ship. And I have full initiative turned on. So the first thing the survey ship did was fly to the next system, and then to the next system again. It did NOT do what I expected: fly to the next system and then start surveying the orbital bodies there.
Is there a way to set survey ship behaviors in this way?
I don't want them to behave like rocks skipping across a lake. (Ideally, they would drop a beacon near the star, then survey all the bodies, then move on to the next system, until their fuel runs low enough that they have to return to refuel.)
Once I saw what was happening, I was able to manually stop the survey ship and then put him back in the first new system and then tell him to survey the planets. From there he proceeded to automatically do that behavior, as intended. But left to its own devices, it was going to just skip rocks across the galaxy.

Re: Question about FTL survey ship behavior
We already have some notes on this, but no solution yet. Ticket 31171 was started a few months ago.
