My air force is flying in circles for some reason. They are all orange and refuse to land. Do I need more air bases, or are the land units squeezing them out?

Its likely that you just have too many air units at that air facility.each type of unit has a stack limit of 7.
So you can have 7 land units, 7 air units and 7 sea units all in one hex and be fine.

BUT once you go to 8 (or above) in any of those stacks, they are gonna be affected by the stack limit rules which will push one of the units in that stack of eight out of that hex.

For airplanes, this means that they get kicked off the runway and into the air.AND since they were told to be on the runway by you, they will circle around and try to get back onto that runway til told to go somewhere esle.

Which means til you do tell them to go to another facility(or into reserve) ,they or another air unit will continually take off and circle the field.
They will be stuck trying to obey your order to stay at the facility, and at the same time the stack limit order that says they must leave the hex.

Its really not a big thing unless your short on fuel OR have alot more than 8 units in said stack.
Ive seen 20+ airplane units circling an air faciltity for years on end,without something bad happening to them.

BUT be warned ,if any of the above (low on fuel,far too may airplane units) is the case, your aircraft can run out of fuel while circling and crash.Killing off that unit.
