I've already done that a few times in test games. You just need to be sure you have air supiriority unless you want to see you're bombers going down in flames...

Yes that is possible.

In fact you can attack any upgrades (like roads).
You can also simply bombard hexes and this way you can damage all units on the hex and damage the upgrades.(with the right weapon)
And even if you are not seing the "city icon"
on a piece of land there are still people there that take damage if you bombard the hex.

Does that mean bombing an empty hex?

Yes.It may appear empty (no city icon) but it still has population.

BTW Id like to ask a question as well:

Is there any way to see the relationship between the current population and the production output?

The inherent production of cities will show up on the City Popup (but this isn't yet implemented).

"And where can be seen how much workers factories will need to produce their goods?"

That's a tough one - the game keeps an internal estimate of this number, but we don't report it anywhere (don't we already report enough numbers about production  )

If you're truly interested, we might stick it in as a footnote in one of the status emails/news that will be sent by cabinet ministers every now and again.

But isnt the ammount of labor one of the most important values when determining industrial output?
With too less people you just cant use your 10 military goods factories.

So I think that value should be shown.

And while Im at it:
Do have different industries different manpower requirements so that some factories require more people to run than others?

I too would like to see as many figures as possible, especially if they play an important role in the game. And manpower requirements are one of them.

Where to show them is another question of course. Most of the infoscreens are quite cluttered already.

Actually you have a separate large pop-up window for economic data. I think it would be reasonable to add another screen there with ind. (manpower) statistics and options. There is room for it.

To Jurgen: it seems to me that Military goods factories use the most resources (incl manpower). It also has cumulative effect - if you produce more mil. goods you also have to produce more coal, ore, oil, electricity and ind goods. In my games it messed up my economy real good if I built too many mil. goods factories.

In addition to the above, then, can interceptors be assigned to 'escort' a particular bomber flight?

There is an "Escort" order, yes.
