Update 3 Information
The approximate release date of Update 3 is...... (drum roll??)
Wednesday, October 5th.
We'll give details here on the forum first, we won't be sending out a newsletter update until we get a bit more bandwidth later in the week.
We're still up to our waist in final tests and tweaks, but as we're feature-locked for the update we'll be able to start posting some information on the changes and fixes.
There are not a huge number of 'visible' changes, but there are a lot of improvements under the hood. The biggest changes:
- Performance improvements, especially for large maps and high unit counts
- New Missile-targetting and loading options, making use of missiles easier
- New Mission (Russian Bear) and a number of updates to existing scenarios and missions
- Improvements to AI aggression and use of military units
- Lots and lots of unit/AI/production/economy improvements, bug fixes, and tweaks.
More info to come shortly.

The New Paradigm evolves
You guys are the best. This game is going to set new standards for strategy gaming. We dedicated fans recognize this is a real masterpiece still in progress. The finishing touches you all at BG are adding now will someday become a legend that sets the mark for future development. Not a new Alpha Centauri or Europa U, but THE SR2010. We appreciate your dedication and support and love your product. Thanks so much.
The LAST game I may ever need to buy!

Are you trying to start a riot here?
BTW, I'm sure this will get a few ppl confused first time this happens; Units you buy/get from the World Market offers are put into reserves now instead of deployed. I was testing tonight, accpeted, and for a moment I thought I didn't get the units, then remembered they where in reserves. Long run it is better IMHO, just catches you off guard first time.

I don't recall exactly what about the World scenario you had mentioned, but we have improved the performance of it a bit. We still want to make more improvements to the scenario itself, that will be getting looked at in the near future.swatter555 wrote:Please, tell me you fixed the World scenario a little. I sent you guys an email offering to help, but havent recieved a reply.
Sorry if we didn't get back to your email, in the past few weeks we've been plugging away pretty hard and haven't had the chance to reply to everything.

PS - and the unlimited missile storage option IS in, as promised

you realy don't need such a powerfull computer for that. it is much cheaper to buy the cheaper duron or altlon and get the same game experience at much lower costZworf wrote:hurrah! Can't wait
I ordered myself a new computer, AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+, soon I'll be able to play those larger scenarios!

Never lost faith, never questioned the date note even in jest but after hearing George.... or Daxon...... or David..... or yourself.... say "don't expect any significantly new content though" I'm asking questions now
