This file should hopefully fix the problem.
Place it in the graphics => meshes folder found in the SR root folder. Naturally make backups and all that.

It is a problem in the insider build.
I set the game to insider, deleted default.picnums and unit1585.x and had Steam validate all files so it should be fully unaltered files from the server.
Validation does not properly check if files have changed maybe only if they are there or not. The first validation did not find that I had replaced the model with the one I linked to hence why I deleted those files.
