Re: Most fun game ever? / AAR UK saves the World from Russia

Post by GIJoe597 »

We already have a beach head in Siberia, but can make no headway, after years of fighting, we simply cannot push forward any longer. The only reason we have lasted this long is the lack of supplies for the Russian units. Unfortunately, we have pushed to a point where their supply is just enough to mass forces, 100's of units. They have a large technology advantage, and the best aircraft in the game.

The UK does not have the manpower or industrial power to combat the huge advantages Russia has. Ironically, it is quite simply a numbers game, (Original Soviet doctrine was always based on quantity). However this time, they have quantity and quality. I am not exaggerating or typing hyperbole when I post, for the first time ever, I am ready to surrender as the UK. I saddens me to admit that, but honestly, what else can I do. Russia has more planes in the eastern theater than I have in combined units world wide. Land, Air and Sea. Realistically, if it were not for France destroying the Chunnel, we would have fallen years ago.

I am toying with the idea of releasing the AI for the UK and swapping to the USA, sheer stubbornness is all that has prevented me from already doing that.

NOTE: If anyone would like to take a crack at this, without cheating, I am happy to send you the save game.

Well, I might be interested in taking a shot at that save* but please remind me what is considered cheating (apart from using dev codes/cheats)? Is any abuse of game system considered cheating or not?

Will you post a link, or do you need us to provide an e-mail for you to send the savegame file? :D

I have emailed the SAVE to 5 people total now. So far, one has reported back that it killed their computer with a whopping 15 mins per day. Imagine what it would have been had I not scrapped all the old and obsolete Russian units some time ago?

To be sure, I have read no suggestions yet on any tactic I feel would be successful. Something was brought up which I floated a long time ago, and that was attacking other countries to absorb their populations and resources in order to better fight the Russians. This for me is almost a no go.. but it is also almost the only option that would meet with any success at this time.

Number47- By cheating, I mean logging in as Russia and deleting all their units as an example. Or by modifying the UK files in any way. I agonized over scrapping the old obsolete Russian units when I did that and after much internal debate I did do it. As you can tell, it offered me no in game advantage as the Russians have stymied me at every turn and I am at the point where I am openly admitting to considering surrendering and swapping to the USA.

wow, that save is one huge clusterf***! Though, it doesn't seem impossible just tiresome (time consuming) :-)

Challenge accepted 8)

Biggest problem I see is negative daily balance, and the biggest positive those multi roles you have...those kick as** :D I played for 3 months (Sep 11 2040) and the score is 446 kills to 9 (only using multies) in my favour. So, I need to step up the game since every 100 days Russia gets new 400 land units

Ok, I decided to hijack this thread but just to post few pictures of my "success" in little bit over a year (savegame file starts at July 12 2040) :D

In short UK killed 2494 russian units and lost 41 units but only 7924 military casualties while Russians had 1.06 M...UK also gained 989 184 km2...all this in 13 months :D

I had serious issues with cash and had to sell a lot of Tornados to US to get money until I realised I (you :D ) was spending 4,090 M $ per day on technology level
Killing technology advancements provided enough cash for bigger investments in military campaign... 8)

Good going, and yes I was spending max I could on Technology. After playing this particular game for real world years I may have simply needed a break. :) By the way, did you bring additional fighters over to Siberia? I made sure I left enough on the Home Island to provide what I considered adequate defense.

Do you still have the same number of production facilities?

Yes, brought majority of Terra's to Syberia...the whole land grab was done solely by annihilating their ground troops with Terra's and my supply did the rest. I haven't used a single land unit (apart from engineers) in this endevour :D

As for the production facilities, I built 10 air fabs and 5 land fabs in Syberia to speed up the land grab. Land fabs will be used later when I "invent" some strong ion land units which will take me another 2 years if I calculated correctly

Really good reading.

After another two real life years, there is any chance to resume the game?

I m away from home, out of state at the moment. I am unsure if I still have the save. Upgraded the computer I was playing this on to Windows 10 and had nothing but problems with it. I will try to remember when I get back home to check for the save... 3 months to 6 months...
