Strange issue, playing with this mod. Sandbox, 1949 campaign as South Africa. USSR has invaded West Germany, taken large chunks, etc. Suddenly there is this series of 'city captured/city liberated' messages over Hamburg (had been USSR recap by WGer). Then the UN/diplo message shows "unit complete" then CTD.

Any thoughts?

I haven't altered any of the news items etc.. so nothing to do with the mod. (sounds like it might be related to this thread viewtopic.php?f=66&t=19478)

It's rare and hard to reproduce but happens in the vanilla version as well.

Thanks Fist. I didn't think it was your mod (per se) that caused it. Literally dozens of 'city lib' and 'city cap' messages before CTD. Really strange. I haven't reloaded the game yet to see if I could repeat the error.

Got to say man, I'm loving the ability to pay off loans directly. Good stuff. And of course, all the info back in the game again (UN, and so on). Keep up the great work.

I've seen it happen. IF you can load the game up and reproduce it post the save game or send it to me. I can test on a totally vanilla version of the game and then pass it along to balt to help them figure out the issue. (I have yet to have this bug be reproducable which makes it hard for BG to track down the issue.)

Totally forgot about it.. As of 0.81 I increased the research Time and costs on most Future techs..
(this of course only applies to The modern world scenario)
Most future techs take a few years to research now rather than a few months.
Note It was A sweeping change.. so some techs may be too long or to short in research time and costs. Feel free to post feedback on specific techs.

I was going to suggest that you switch part of Azerbaijan's loyalty to Armenia to represent Nagorno-Karabakh (if possible), but while I was trying to figure out which hexes it would take up, I noticed the town of Ağdam with its population of about 38,000. That was accurate before 1993, but the town was captured in the Nagorno-Karabakh war and the population fled. It is now uninhabited and nearly all of its buildings have been destroyed.

Well we can't modify the the loyalty of specific hexes.. nor can you modify the Population of specific hexes. So nothing can be done about either. I could remove the town.. but the engine would still place some population there.

There are numerous Population errors when examining specific hexes, since we can only modify the population of entire region and the engine spreads that population over the hexes in that region as it sees fit. This is one of the many things on my modders wish list which BG has never asked me for a copy of.

Fistalis, I'm planning to play SRCW with MW when they release the next patch and you make MW completely compatible with it, so the question I have is, do you think it will be very hard for you to adjust MW to the new version of SRCW?

We do keep an eye to the changes of our most popular modders and will continue to work with them to minimize the pain of updating their mods for game updates.

Hopefully some of my more recent (import exports) UI additions will be in update 3 in a more streamlined not cobbled together by fistalis way. So I can actually remove some of the modifications.

Also..if the update does alot of good stuff I will probably have more work than if it did less. Reason being there are a few things in my mod that have been designed specifically to avoid certain issues that I would need to redo, and some other things which i've wanted to implement but are currently bugged (event 37) that if were functional would require a significant investment from me to get them working as I had previously envisioned.

Granted neither are required to maintain functionality, so it would probably take me a few days at most to get a compatible version up. But would take significantly longer to get the Mod where I want it. There is only 1 function that would significantly make the mod either harder or impossible to make, and they already broke it and then fixed it when I whined about it. (which is why there was never a version of the modern world created with update 1)

So I have little idea how to install one of these mods. I've been able to teach myself how to do most of it. I have the files mostly installed and am able to play the scenario and sandbox mode of the Modern World mod, but I am completely unable to select a Nation. Every time I try to play, I immediately play as Egypt. No Questions asked. Any Idea as to how I can fix this?

The installer version you simply point it at your Supreme Ruler Cold war Folder(the one with the supremeRulerCW.exe) and it installs everything. The rar version you just Unzip it into you supreme ruler cold war folder and everything should go where it belongs.

Sounds to me like you don't have the files properly installed. Try using the installer and pointing at your supereme Ruler cold war folder.

Yup. I over thought the installation process and installed improperly. Thanks. It's working now.

No Problem. All my mods follow the same conventions, although most are .rar so require you to unzip it into the supreme ruler folder. I've meant to convert more to self extracting zips but just haven't yet.

I could probably have an installer read the registry files to automatically find where your supreme ruler is installed... but most people aren't comfortable with a modder poking around in their registry files (if you are, you probably shouldn't be...) so the self extracting zip is a compromise.(one I made cause I got sick of people asking me what a .rar file was)
