or this?

Is this a bug or what? I have noticed this in all of my games but never took the time to properly document it and report it as there were always bigger issues on the menu :D

Yeah, but I'm not sure you understood the situation in question. This is another example of game giving me a same message x20 :
event no.4.jpg
To clarify, all 20 messages you see here are exactly the same...not a variation of countries but the same text for all 20 messages

A few more events that result in multiple messages:
event no. 5.jpg
event no. 6.jpg
event no. 7.jpg
I am dumbfounded that this thread has not received any official comment HUH ... [_]O I know this probably belongs to support & issues but I wanted to see if other players encountered this.

... which is why I didn't respond right away.

Do you have a savegame where the duplicate msgs come up withing a game day or two?

Unfortunately, no. But I can start a new game and make a save just before it happens as this "issue" was present in all of my games I ever started. I can use the dates of the events as a mark and create a save a day or two before that event happening but as my games were prone to destack bug I'm not sure how long will it take me to get to '60 again :-(

Balt, I managed to get to the '60s again
I saved few seconds before the first event (sino-soviet split on June 15 1960) that generates the multiple messages so you can check. I'll post the link of the savegame below

I've had a nearly infinate (well, until it crashed) bug something like this once. Sandbox game, USSR attacks W Germany. I think it is Hamburg that falls, then I got about a zillion city control messages, then a crash. Not repeatable; just happened that one time. Odd glitch I suppose. If it happens again, I'll save the game and submit under tech support.

There are a couple of problems here and it becomes a question of making sure the details are seen of each event vs. duplication (and more...) of the notice. For instance, the Kennedy Alliance... notice - you got that message once for every region involved in the deal because essentially it is handled in the game as 20 different events, one event for each region that's part of the alliance. Looking into it a little further to see if there's another way of handling it, but might not be anything that can be done anytime soon.

Not an Ideal solution. But you could remove the message from the Events. Then create a separate event that goes off at the same time and does nothing but sends the single message.

The kennedy alliance for example you would remove the Messages tied to each individual event then place this before or after it.

Code: Select all

6236640, , 1, 713, , , False, False, False, False, False, , , , , , , , ,

Or you could just remove the email sent for all but one of them, leaving only one with the global message.

For example for the Kennedy Speaks in Berlin one you currently have this.

Code: Select all

7212960, , 14, 657, 2989, 1489, False, False, False, True, False, , , , , 0.25, 0.15, , ,
7212960, , 14, 657, 1489, 2989, False, False, False, False, True, , , , , 0.25, 0.25, , ,
Which results in 2 messages

Removing the message from one in this case would solve it since there is no default message tied to it.

Code: Select all

7212960, , 14, , 2989, 1489, False, False, False, True, False, , , , , 0.25, 0.15, , ,
7212960, , 14, 657, 1489, 2989, False, False, False, False, True, , , , , 0.25, 0.25, , ,

As for the Kennedy alliance, just make one To send the Cold war message and remove the Message from the Rest of the events.

like this.

Code: Select all

6236640, , 7, 713, 2989, 2601, False, False, False, True, False, , , , 1825, 1095000000, , , ,
6236640, , 7, , 2989, 2305, False, False, False, True, False, , , , 1825, 730000000, , , ,
6236640, , 7, , 2989, 2312, False, False, False, True, False, , , , 1825, 182500000, , , ,
6236640, , 7, , 2989, 2301, False, False, False, True, False, , , , 1825, 501875000, , , ,
6236640, , 7, , 2989, 2302, False, False, False, True, False, , , , 1825, 182500000, , , ,

6236640, , 7, , 2989, 2606, False, False, False, True, False, , , , 1825, 100000000, , , ,
6236640, , 7, , 2989, 2309, False, False, False, True, False, , , , 1825, 90000000, , , ,

The result would be 1 Message about kennedy that goes to everyone, and all the others would be default diplomatic offers only the target nations would see.

Or you could add a part at the end of the message where it says which nation hes offering a treaty to if you wanted to take a different route. That way they would get 20 SIMILAR messages but not duplicates :D

Granted you may have to vary the method depending on the event. Some DO have default messages tied to them so would take the first 2 options off the table, although most of those are likely to be bilateral anyway, Declaring war and such so its not likely to result in multiple messages anyway.

If you're worried about the Support or Condemn options, we cant see what we're supporting or condemning anyway since they all are the same message.

Just saying.
