Alright. Since I'm going to be pretty much ignoring the modern world mod.. I was thinking about a mod that reduces the World to a group of unions for the most part.
European union
African Union
Arab Union
North american Union
South american union
Asian Union
(these are all either real unions or proposed unions)
These unions would be nations for this scenario.
Rest would be independent.
This would of course be a fictional Near future scenario. But I would use the modern world as a base and slightly modify files as needed.
Thoughts?
I could spend more time on updating my other mods.. but none of them ever got much interest. (0 posts on my forums about them.. even though they have their own section)
I don't want a HUGE project... since Its going to slide into the backseat when update 3 comes, I'd like whatever I work on to be done by the time update 3 rolls around so I can go back the modern world. If anyone has any other Ideas or wants some of my other mods updated let me know. I do have a small update for the modern world in the works but after that I'll pretty much be ignoring it til update 3.

Consider this a request thread for either new mods or updates to my other mods Open until Update 3.

Asian union is based on the ACD so australia and new zealand would be independent.
Some nations belong to mutiple Orginizations that the Unions are based off of in those instances I'll pick whichever I think suits it best.
Example.. Saudi arabia belongs to both the ACD and the Arab league. In that instance I would probably make them part of the Arab Union which is based of the arab league. (I don't know for sure yet the only one I've finished so far is the EU)

Since its near future though I can always make up a Oceanic union instead of leaving them independent.

Don't see why not..they seem to be against any sort of union/alliance/taking a position.

Of course they are surrounded by the EU.. so it sucks for them but w.e. (sucks even more for andorra)



Haven't changed the flag yet.. still have them using the NATO flag due to some experiments I was doing with the modern world. (thought about making NATO its own entity reliant on member states for military etc.. but they didn't have the population needed to man any sizeable army when I gave them only hexes that contain NATO bases)

Just out of interest, why the halt on the Modern World mod?

Also if you feel up to it how about an updating of the shattered world mod to bring it more inline with CW....

Or creating a mod similar to that one...

Only issue that I could see (bar the work) is with the new annex/colonise/liberate feature and the loyalties of the hex's!

Not sure.. I expected to have a female visitor today but she didn't show so I'm half drunk and pissed.. nothing will get done today. Maybe this weekend for the first release, Alls I have to do for the initial release is combine nations into unions

Will there be a 1984 starting date? Watch out for rocket bombs.

There is already a 1984 mod.. although this mod is very similar on the surface... no it will not start in 1984... im thinking 2014..
