Can a unit in the game be moddified to simply surrender ?

Post by tkobo »

The text box for the "subject" is too short :(

What i would like,is to be able to make it so a unit will automatically surrender when an enemy unit enters the same hex.

Also can a unit be made indestructable ?

I want to be able to make a unit that cannot be destroyed ( i would prefer it coundnt be attacked, but i dont see that happening),that doesnt attack anything but can move around the board and act as a unit otherwise, but that surrenders when "caught".

Doable ?

Last I had heard, POW's had been dropped mostly.

Units can surrender, but weve not yet to my knowledge been told what happens to them OR if they can surrender for things other than 100% suppression.

I suspect the surrender issue is not fully worked out yet.

Through the use of Modding units can be made (close to) indestructable, but regarding the auto-surrender question, no we don't have that.

It actually came up in discussion just a couple of weeks ago, as the way to do a 'capture the flag' scenario (flag unit would change hands when caught, but would need to be returned to player's capital for victory). The CTF victory condition didn't get into this version, so no auto-surrender unit either.

What about turning against their government? Not sure if this was asked but lets say they are persuaded to join the enemy would they flip colors?

Bummer, no ctf means no rhgesw scenario either I think.

Is this becuase of an "engine" or time issue ?

"Capture the Wench?" That's a different game, I think :-)

The CTF was left out primarily as a time thing - we already allow a bunch of different victory condition options, including some special mission-based conditions (such as making a delivery to a specific hex, etc).
