It seems Barack Obama is planning something. :D

Glad to hear! :-) Though it might take a while before we have a finished product, still much to do and little free time to do it.

Just wondering Hullu, do you have any plans of modding Cold War sometime after it releases? I assume if they use similar programing that MDC may be able to just be ported over without too much hassle, but no telling untill we can get a hold of those game files.

THIS IS THE v1.5 INFOPAGE!
Download v1.5

This beta, in short, includes 1 campaign, 3 custom scenarios, 1244 new units, 475 modded units, ~195 leader pics/leaders(I think), New menus, upgraded relations and other improvements...

the downloadable file is 40,4mb large and the mod size is 54,9mb large.

Install instructions and possible backup
backup:
You should also backup files that you have moded that may be overridden(not intentionally), but if you do not have a moded game, then the only files that would be overridden would be the \Supreme Ruler 2020\Localize\LOCALEN\Variables.INI and \Supreme Ruler 2020\Localize\LOCALEN\LocalText-TTR.csv files in in the Localize folder. You should also backup;
BKGND.png, Cursors.png, FLAGBITS0.png, FLAGBITS1.png, FLAGBITS2.png, FLAGBITS3.png, FLAGBITS4.png, FLAGBITS5.png, FLAGBITS6.png, FLAGBITS7.png, FLAGBITS8.png, MenunewGC.png, splashbox.png, SRBITS0.png, SRBITS1.png, SRBITS2.png, SRBITS3.png, SRBITS4.png, SRBITS5.png, SRBITS6.png, SRBITS7.png, SRBITS8.png, SRBITS9.png, SRBITSA.png
in the \Supreme Ruler 2020\Graphics\ folder.
\Supreme Ruler 2020\Graphics\Meshes\DEFAULT.PICNUMS, should also be back upped.
\Supreme Ruler 2020\INI\AIParams.csv, back up this file if you have it modded, I provide a "AIParamsORIGINAL.csv" that is the original AIParams file.
or
just Copy the \Supreme Ruler 2020\Localize, \Supreme Ruler 2020\INI and\Supreme Ruler 2020\Graphics folders :-)

If this all seems too complicated, then copy all of your supreme ruler 2020 file to a new location and install the mod in the original directory. If then anything goes wrong or you do not wan't the mod you can copy back the supreme ruler 2020 and have your pre-mod installation game back. 8)

Installation
:
1. Extract to your local Supreme Ruler 2020 folder eg. C:\program\Paradox Interactive\Supreme Ruler 2020
2. launch the game and play :-)

This mod is free, can be used it what way suits the user, can be distributed to whom ever/where ever etc... but, the only thing I would ask is that if you use any material from this mod in another mod, you would credit or mention this mod or the author :-)

I will try to get an Installer as well :)

Congrats for making such a great mod! I love everything about it except for one thing... Its really hard (impossible for me) to efficiently fight ROK with that huge amount of American units stationed at the border, even if I'm not fighting the US units its just impossible to see the ROK units that are hidden between the USFK. Its great that you decided to represent the American forces stationed there but it makes conquering Seoul almost impossible.

Another problem I have is that I can't make peace with ROK. I'm currently at a stalemate, I have a line of artillery from one coast to the other, any Korean unit that comes close is destroyed or heavily damaged. The ROK Army has 240.000 casualties while I only have ~80.000. This ratio in the standard game would be enough to get a peace treaty but here is not the case. I can't advance to conquer more land because of the stacks of enemy artillery backed by dozens of garrison units. I honestly have no idea how the AI is able to conquer South Korea...
Note: I can't just keep waiting for ROK casualties to increase because the war its too expensive for me, at the peak of the fights I was importing military goods worth 500mil/day. I'm running out of countries to whom to sell technology.

Any suggestions on what should I do next?

What I personally usually do is, I clear my way hex by hex(or a line of hexes) with artillery fireing those hexes, when they are cleared, I move my units and arty one hex forward. You will destroy Americans as well this way, if they are in the way, they will get pounded by neutral fire and either die or get out of there, the Americans are too cowards to start a war. . Well, I don't know how to save your economy, I would go with, higher Tax, lower spending(except for infrastructure), basically try to lower as many costs as possible and sell stuff. In maybe ~75%-90% of the games I have played or observed, China usually gets involed and if they do they will likely launch their own offensive into Korea. China might even bail you out if you get into a too deep financial crisis. Which difficulty are you playing at? at hard diplomatic setting S Korea is never gonna make peace.

hopefully my advise helps :-)

I might have rushed a bit with my previous statement. I managed to unite Korea this morning so its definitely possible. The DPRK Guerrilla units are what the doctor recommends :), they're like terminators, they're so good that you don't even have to spam them, 20 units were enough to get the job done. I have one unit with 59 kills. What is the background of this unit? Highly trained, fanatic, loyal to Dear Leader special forces? If so maybe the name should be changed and the build time to reflect the superior training. But its a great unit nonetheless.

Also could you tell me if NK can research advanced weaponry? I want to use only domestic units but I'd like to know if there are infantry, tanks, jets that can stand their ground against the western 21st century technology. I'm asking about new units added by the mod.

Also a suggestion how to get rid of the 100 american units stranded on the Korean peninsula. Maybe the US should own a hex on land with a port and a few more on water somewhere on the coast of SK, so when you capture SK, the US can come and pick up their troops. I would give them a transit treaty to move their troops from my territory but they seem to hate me too much to sign the agreement. So right now I have an entire army in my territory, which could become problematic since I want to invade USA sometime in the future.

DPRK was added to give Korea a chance of survival, it was designed as a 'elite guerilla', meaning it is good in attacking and defending complexes/cities, but in the field against tanks, well there they might not make it so well :-) . in SR2020 you can't edit the map, it consists of existing regions that the BG have made, so I can't give them bases, Ports :(. As for possible changes, this is the "last" version, though if possible I will continue this mod onto SRCW.

I have a question. Its only related to your mod because I'm using it but I didn't want to create a new thread just for one question. So here it is:
If a country has huge negative values in the treasury (US has -800bil $, Japan -6000 billion$) will this issue prevent those countries from further developing certain areas? Eg. creating new techs, building new units etc.
Note: The US at least is self sufficient, it still has vast amounts of resources in stock but for some reason its treasury keeps draining out...

Also something strange happened to the Russian economy. Russia is pretty much beating the crap out of every European county that gets in its way. It already occupied Poland and now is wiping the floor with the Germans. Well these conflicts took their toll on Russia's economy, at one point it was about -70bil$ but after a couple months I looked again and their treasury is now +190bil$. These assessments were made after the occupation of Poland so the money didn't come from Poland. The only notable event was some kind of change of government inside the Russian Federation... I'm really intrigued was really has happened... Any thoughts?

Well, everything that requires money will go down, if you need to import something, you cant. if you need to put money into social spending and tech research that can't be done either, plus I think they lag behind, but I don't think they stop. About Russia, hmm, really I have no idea :-) , though 3 possibilities come to mind, 1) the maybe most likely, China or some rich ally bailed them out 2) that when Russia was occupying foreign land and it's complexes, it needed to rebuild and use large amounts of ind goods etc or 3) a governmental change (was it a party change or democracy to dictatorship), it could be that the new gov, lowered spending costs and started earning more money that way. Though these last 2 are unlikely, the first option is the most likely.
