Germany and Germany Unification

Post by tedesco »

There will be a representation of the German case? I wonder if I'll need to unite the country trough war or it will be available trough diplomacy?

Best luck with the game. The expectations are huge. :)

Yes, the special condition of Germany during the Cold War will certainly be simulated, and unification should be possible through force or peaceful methods.

Re: Germany's unification:

Will the 'Stalin notes' of the early 50s be simulated? These were proposals from the Soviet side that Germany can be a united, neutral state in Europe, similar to how Austria turned out in real life.

Interestingly, having been in Berlin at the time of the German Reunification, I wonder if there will be a reflection of the attitudes of the day. To wit: Many of my West German friends did not like and feared the idea that East German workers would enter their economy and work for less, changing the paradigm by taking jobs, etc...

Perhaps a supply support modifier based on who takes over whom, and exactly how much time has passed for the cultures to diverge. I would imagine if Germany had reunified a mere handful of years post WWII, that the cultures would've merged together without much incident. But the reality of so much time passing caused (when I returned to Germany circa '99-'02) there to remain some vestige of Us vs Them mentality between east and west Germans.

On the other hand, it may be more programming than such a small thing would be worth.

The Stalin Notes also included the return of both the Soviet and Polish Administered Zones!

It's a good feature, cleaning out your country and taking out all the immigrants.

Westen Poland and the Sudetenland weren't filled with imagrants like other parts of Eastern Europe and East Prussia never was part of Poland or Russia prior to the 1945 communist occupation. Western Poland and Bohemia were conqured by Slavic tribes in the 400's then later re-encorporated into the Holy Roman Empire, while the Prussi were conqured and cristianized by the Teutonic Knights at the bequest of the Pope in Rome and the Polish King's during the 12th & 13th centuries.

Slavic tribes conquered bohemia and western poland in 400s ? Wow. If you take this that, then german ancestors conqured germany and "moved" french ancestors to france.
(and dont forget by science theory EVERY humans come from africa, they didnt evolved in many places indepently).

What you mean with re-encoporating to HRE ? Mermbership in HRE was for every counry (and king) voluntary. They can leave it at will if they want, but for joining they need invitation by member. BTW - bohemian and polish king was electors (from 7-8 total) of HRE king (from around 35 states - numbers and names of members was moving in time.
