AAR Playing as Cuba - SR2020 GC Update 7...

Post by tonystowe »

SR2020-GC, Update 7 (Thanks BG)
Player: Cuba

I started this game with the explicit understanding that the US would declare war against Cuba. To counter this inevitable fact I made early alliances with Haiti, Venezuela; Iran, Syria, Libya; Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan; China, North Korea, and Myanmar.
I know that I am unable to project power outside of Cuban waters so I focus my attention on defending the homeland. An immediate defensive strategy is enacted by deploying air defense, artillery, and MLRS units throughout the region and increasing the garrison unit. Additionally, I began building air defense and radar sites to ensure maximum coverage and visibility. Furthermore, I deployed a portion of my naval surface fleet to patrol my northern shores and monitor the US war machine.

On 30 JAN 2020 the US made an official declaration of war against Cuba and initiated an immediate naval and aerial attack against Cuban military units and facilities. The Cuban naval surface fleet was slaughtered in the first few hours of the war as the US warships moved into Cuban territorial water.

Believing that the US amphibious attack was looming, I ordered an immediate call up of all possible forces and dispersing them across the island. The attack never came; however, the US warships and aircraft continued their harassing attacks. Out of curiosity, I deployed my only Mi-14PL Haze ASW helo and found US submarines (1x SSN-21, 2x SSN-773, 1x SSGN-726) operating in the waters near Habana. The US had also deployed submarines (SSN-773) with its surface ships patrolling around Guantanamo.

By the end of February the Cuban forces had deployed in the best possible configuration to counter an amphibious attack. As the month’s passed with no invasion I continued to improve my defensive positions. I also deployed spies west of Freeport, Bahamas to provide early warning but this proved too limited and unproductive. Eventually, I redeployed that spy to Key West to provide at least a little intelligence on what was operating from that airstrip. My intelligence gathering, espionage, and sabotage attempts against the US were numerous throughout the first year with little to show for the amount of time they spent on station.
During April 2020 I utilized my ASW helo religiously to relocate the US submarines as I was curious as to whether or not they would lead the US landing ships. Of course, their recon capabilities were probably assisting US strikes (if the game works that way). That was one busy helo as it made its passes around the island to locate the enemy submarines. I also began the construction of five missile fabrication sites to build as many anti-ship missiles as possible.

Beginning in mid-April I noticed numerous US aircraft sorties of U-2 Recon, E-8 J-Stars and P-3C Orion ASW aircraft near the peninsula east of Holguin, Cuba. I found it puzzling at first and thought that the AI was either conducting a recon of the landing site or randomly sending aircraft on yet another mission. I would later find the answer to be the landing site! Additionally during this time the US was using its UAV recon aircraft on a regular basis to patrol/recon my northern shore. Sometimes they would fly across the island.

By August 2020 I had lost my only ASW aircraft so my intel reports regarding the subs went to zero. A caveat to this bad news is that I was less than one month away from having a Tu-142M-Z Bear-F ASW produced. August was a slow month for the US war effort as the naval and aircraft harassment strikes had slowed to a crawl. This was good in that it allowed me a little breathing room to restructure my forces, deactivate some facilities to increase reserve forces, and to continue to build units. I had several WS-2 400mm MLRS units scattered across the island but there “real” input on the battle was limited by all counts. I wish that I had spent the resources producing more SP artillery units and by the end of the year had made that change.

Between late August and mid-September the US naval forces began a series of attacks against the southeast coast of Cuba and my Tu-142M-Z was destroyed while locating more US submarines accompanying the surface ships. It was pretty impressive to see a mixture of 15-25x fixed-wing aircraft respond to my attacks against the US warships and submarines. My limited air force was strained as it was continuously met with by angry and pissed off US air force every time they tried to fly a sortie.

The US continued its recon flights and harassing strikes through August to October. During this time the UN finally gave me advisors which helped a little. The bigger “yea me!” was when Syria and Iran offered Cuba military equipment of MBT’s (T-55, T-62, T-72), BMP’s, BTR’s, artillery (M101 105mm), and other units. Of course, nothing is for free so I had to come off of some technology to pay for this equipment as my funds have remained low.
As the end of October neared and the US invasion still had not materialized I began to think that my pro-active defensive measures had persuaded it not to invade the little island. Those thoughts were short lived as my intel department began receiving spot reports (SPOTREP) of US amphibious vessels en-route towards Cuba through the Bahamas east of Nassau. Here is the timeline:

290600OCT2020: 20-25x US mixture of air superiority/grnd atk Acft patrolling along north Cuban shore between Victoria De La southeastward towards Moa. Continuous air operations throughout the day.

010200NOV2020: 2x LHD-1 amphib vessels spotted east of Nassau heading south towards Cuba.

010300NOV2020: 2x LCS 0/0, 2x DDG-71, 1x CG patrolling Cuban waters, north side of islands, between Moron and Moa.

011600NOV2020: 2x LHD-1 amphib vessels landing troops at peninsula east of Holguin, Cuba off-loading 1x M3A4, 7x M2A4, 3x M113A3. (GROUP 1)

012000NOV2020: Cuban forces arriving at landing site; fierce fighting ensues.

020000NOV2020: 20-25x US mixture of aircraft providing air cover and ground attack support for invasion forces.

020200NOV2020: 3x LSD-41, 2x LHD-1, 2x LHA-1, 2x LPD-4, 1x LSD-49, 1x LPD-17 spotted east of Nassau heading towards landing site. (GROUP 2)

020600NOV2020: 3x LPD-17 amphib vessels spotted east of Nassau heading towards landing site escorted by 1x DDG-51. (GROUP 3)

030200NOV2020: US Osprey and Chinook helo’s providing supplies to US forces fighting in Cuba.

030600NOV2020: The US has off-loaded approximately 50x M2A4, 20x M3A4, 5x ENG, 40x M113A3, 10x GDLS-V Recon, 1-5x LAV-25, 1-5x AAVP7A1 and the fighting for the southern portion of Cuba is fierce. Holguin and Guantanamo, Cuba falls to US forces while other cities in the south continue to fight.

060400NOV2020: The US controls 30% of the island (the southeastern portion), but its advance has been stopped vic Camaguey. Waning supplies and no place to repair its forces, the US units are slowly getting decimated by the recuperating Cuban forces. Prior to being overrun, Cuban forces destroyed all air fields, barracks, sea ports, industry, etc to deny its use to US forces. The tactic worked beautifully as their mobile forces are beginning to go on the defensive. US missile strikes against Cuban targets, especially artillery and air defense, has increased but is still far lower than it could be if used properly.

190600NOV2020: The US forces are beginning to see defeat as Cuba retakes lost ground and pushing the enemy forces towards Guantanamo. At this hour Cuba has lost 127 units and has killed 145 units.

010600DEC2020: Cuban continues to retake lost territory and actively seeking US forces to destroy.

A quick Review: I absolutely cannot believe that I held off the US invasion! I am still shocked and to be honest I was ready to through in the towel around 20 NOV 2020 when I seen all of the US troops moving and killing everything in sight. I suspect another invasion is coming so I am preparing for that now and hope to be better prepared…. (whew) More to come.

Was a good stratagy to remove there airbases, sea piers and barraks. No repair, Low supply, And on an Island. The AI will have a hard time trying to figure out what todo. Infact the AI does not even have a stratagy to deal with this. They will either try to run back to the mainland (which none will be doing this over water). or sit there till they die. Only hope they would have is to send supply planes down and hope to overrun you as quickly as possible. I wonder if you succed at this (which it sounds like you are). if they will send anouther wave down and if that wave will be larger.

Although I suspect the US was low on funds so was stuck at defcon 3? Its kinda funny the US probly kept defcon 1 for a few months, but was not using it to its advantage as in not in any major combat. And now that it is in major combat it is resorted to defcon 3.

Admittedly, this has been my best game to date and the most fun because of the large threat posed by the US. I somewhat hate to say that because I have played so many games with the various regions.

My initial strategy was to stop them at the landing site; however, that plan quickly dissolved as the US landed more and more units. I believe the US landed a total of 100-120 units during the span of 24-36 hours. Luckily for me the AI landing at one instead of multiple beach heads. Had the US landed at even one other beach head I would have ended this game two months after they landed.

For a small update on this game, by 20 DEC 2020 I had destroyed all US forces and recovered all Cuban territorial water and land. The US tried to send its amphib ships back to the US after a few weeks of setting offshore and I was able to destroy a large portion of them as they were unprotected. My artillery and anti-ship missiles were used to destroy them as they passed. The tally is now: Losses: 133 Killed: 220 US units... I honestly would not have bet on me still being in this game! A recent tactic that I am going to try is to relocate my Elite Infantry and some artillery into Mexico, a recent Ally, and conduct some hit and run operations. :) The US is still determined to finish Cuba as a line of M60A3, Leopard 2A3 (German design... a unit trade maybe?), and M1A2's stretch from Key West along the florida keys northward towards Turkey Point, USA. Thank goodness the US MBT's did not make it to the fight!

As Ruges pointed out, the AI could not pull itself together in the absence of barracks, airfields, and sea piers to resupply its forces. There was a trickle of supplies after the US had captured a few smaller cities, but it wasn't enough to continuously resupply its forces. The AI did attempt to resupply with Osprey's, Chinooks, and UH-60's flying in from the US. The problem was that my air defense sites kept them from returning to the US or making it into Cuba. One point that I must make is that the AI had approximately six of its amphib ships parked at the beach head with one UH-60 (or variant). I can only assume that the helo was parked onto one of the ships (I will check this later). Which brings me to this AI problem/ Resolution issue:

Problem:
1. AI troops are out of supply, or low, and there are no airfields, sea piers, etc to resupply them.
2. AI amphib ships parked at the beachhead have supplies onboard with one or more helo's available.

Solution:
1. Can the AI see the positioned amphib ships as a source of supplies and utilize the available helo to transfer those supplies to the stranded units?

I believe the answer is no becuase the naval vessels are programmed to resupply other ships - but wouldn't that be cool...

I am hoping that US will attempt a second landing because I want to see if the AI learned from the first debacle and see if it changes its tactics. I believe the AI's inability to include surface warships as part of its landing forces a huge mistake. The AI also moves its transports without any viable protection and that leaves it wide open for huge losses. Granted, the AI has repeatedly sent surface ships to harass my forces but to have them at the landing site and providing interdiction/harassing fires while the landing is ongoing would be awesome.

The US is marginally managing its economy at this stage and while its debt is $8.4 trillion it still has $46 billion in its treasury. I really had not looked at the US DAR and MAR until now and both are much lower than I expected at 28% and 49%, respectively. Another thing that I haven't been able to figure out is that after I recovered all Cuban territory the US is showing -512km in its LAND LOST category. hmmm.

I will end by saying the US is still using submarines in Cuban waters as I recently lost another PC ship. I still have not gained an understanding as to whether or not the AI is patrolling with its submarines or what their orders might be.

What would be cool is if the AI would build a temporary pier or "Mulberry Harbour" to offload supplies and other units to support its amphibious operations.

Good lucks with the ongoing battles :D

A BRIEF UPDATE:

I have played from the last date, 01 DEC 2020, until 10 JUL 2021 and a few interesting things have occurred.

First, the number of regions willing to ally with me is growing as well as the number of offers with military equipment. Some of the equipment offers were from regions with whom I do not have but the bare minimum diplomatic relations. The list of units is topped of with T-80U's, UGM-84G Harpoon missiles, a FRG LC-1 Voyager, light infantry, and towed 152mm artillery pieces. Needless to say, my pool of reserve units are growing faster than I expected or calculated.

During this time I was able to negotiate full alliances, without any additional requests, with India, Pakistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Nigeria, Egypt, Algeria, Italy, Jordan, Argentina, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Columbia, Chile, Paraguay and Canada. While I had to initiate the deals, each of these regions have a role to play in my larger scheme. I can't recall mentioning that I had secured a full transit treaty with the Bahamas.

220400FEB2021: My Tu-142M ASW aircraft conducted a sweep north through the Bahamas, east of Nassau, turning west towards the US mainland and the south over the waterway between the US and the Bahamas. One LCS 0/0 was destroyed approximately 100km north of the Bahamas and as the Tu-142M neared Miami it was destroyed. Before going down it reported 150+ ground units of MBT's, a few artillery and MLRS, and a few M2A4's located at Miami. There was also 18x naval amphib transports in the water next to Miami with the capability to transport 145,100 tons of equipment. I took immediate action deployed a Zonk-2 UAV and 2x MiG-29A in the Bahama's to begin surveillance and anti-ship missile attacks.

110200MAR2021: I successfully airdropped a half-sized Elite Infantry unit onto an oil refinery in the Gulf of Mexico and the response from the US was fierce. Aircraft, missiles, and warships quickly destroyed it and the two garrisons. The Elite Inf mission was to destroy the refinery but was only able to partially damage the facility.

Time Now: 100600 JULY 2021 Losses: 143 Kills: 233

Before ending my play time I made one more peace offer to the US... They are ready to accept Peace!!! Interesting. I am continueing my anti-ship operations vic Miami and intend to utilize SP Artillery and SOF to conduct hit-and-run attacks from Mexico. The war is only beginning! ALL HAIL our Penultimate Leader....

DATE: 10 JUL 2021 - Significant Activity (SIGACT)
Today the United States and Cuba signed a Peace Treaty agreement in which all hostile activity will cease. In the waining hours of the war, prior to the final signatures on the treaty, the Cuban navy and ASW aircraft successfully recovered all territory that the U.S. had occupied.

Current Activity.

Between 11 JUL 2021 and 04 FEB 2022 the western hemisphere remained peaceful. Many technological and resource trades were made with Cuba from regions around the world - to include the United States. These trades significantly improved Cuba's position in the global economy and in the scientific arena as its trading had no restrictions. Additionally, more regions were willing to ally with Cuba and the United Nations saw Cuba's actions to be significant enough to increase its UN ratings to 90% or greater. Cuba continued to increase its military defensive capabilities with the construction of a capable SSN, increase anti-ship missile stocks, and the most in-depth air defense strategy on the planet.

The boredom of peace set in quickly at the little dictators cabana and in the early morning hours of 05 FEB 2022 a DoW against the United States was issued. The lone Cuban SSN made its away around the Florida Keys destroying every ship with in sight. Before its untimely demise at the end of March 2022, its crew had chalked up the sinking of 2x US Carriers, 2x CGN's, and 10x naval transport ships. This was a significant early success for Cuba but it certainly was not enough.

130000APR2022: Increased air, missile, and naval strikes vic Habana

150200APR2022: 2x LHA-1 (5,856 ton cargo at 98% full each) transports spotted vic Turkey Point, Florida heading S-SW. Expected amphib landing site to be vic Havana.

150600APR2022: 1x LHD-1 (12,000 ton cargo at 99% full) transported spotted vic Turkey Point heading S-SW. Expected destination vic Havana. 1x LHA-1 first spotted at 0200 hrs seriously damaged with missile strikes and subsequently destroyed.

151200APR2022: Previously spotted LHD-1 destroyed by missile strikes 100km north of Havana.

151300APR2022: 4x SSN-773(US) subs spotted west and north of Artemisa/Havana. US Subs are conducting missile strikes against Cuban air defense and artillery units.

151600APR2022: The second LHA-1 which was first seen at 0200 hrs is heavily damaged by missile strikes and shore artillery north of Havana and has turned north returning to the US.

151800APR2022: 2x LCC-19 (5,000 tons cargo at 98% full) and 2x LPD-17 (9,000 tons cargo at 98% full) spotted vic Turkey Point heading S-SW towards Cuba.

152000APR2022: 1x LPD-4 (7,000 tons cargo at 99% full) spotted vic Turkey Point heading S-SW towards Cuba. US air and missile strikes continue against the Cuban capitol with a significant increase in the use of ICBM and SLBM. Ten ICBM strikes have been seen hitting radar and air defense sites.

160400APR2022: 1x LCC-19 destroyed by missile strikes and shore artillery.

160600APR2022: The second LCC-19 spotted earlier received significant damage from missile strikes and has turned north returning to the US.

161000APR2022: 1x LHA-1, previously damaged, is destroyed by a missile strike as it made its way through the Florida Keys.

161400APR2022: 1x FFG-7, with missiles, spotted vic Turkey Point heading S-SW towards Cuba. This vessel fired many missiles at Cuban military targets. This ship was eventually damaged enough that it turned to repair at the Miami port but was destroyed by missiles strikes.

161600APR2022: 1x LHD-17 destroyed by missile strikes and shore artillery 48km north of Havana.

161800APR2022: The second LHD-17 is destroyed by missile strikes and shore artillery 48km north of Havana.

170000APR2022: 1x LPD-4 destroyed 48km north of Havana.

170800APR2022: US SSN-773 missile strikes continue against AD and artillery units. 1x DDG-71 with missiles spotted vic Turkey Point. This vessel fired many missiles at Cuban military targets. This ship was eventually damaged enough that it turned to repair at the Miami port but was destroyed by missiles strikes.. U.S. ICBM strikes continue against Cuban AD and artillery units and at this point I have lost count of the number of strikes.

171200APR2022: 1x CG-52 with missiles spotted vic Turkey Point. This vessel fired many missiles at Cuban military targets. This ship was eventually damaged enough that it returned to repair at the Miami port.

-------------------
At the start of this second Cuban-US war on 05 FEB 2022, the United States was in pretty good standing. Its Debt remained at $9.3 trillion while its treasury was stable with $30 billion.
At that time Cuba had suffered only 146 Losses while the US had 253 losses to show for its troubles.

With the clock now showing 21 APR 2022, things have changed considerably in the past 75 days of war. The US has increased its debt to $9.6 trillion while its treasury has declined to -$14 billion. The casualty count has risen to Cuban losses at 160 (an increase of 14 units) compared to the US losses at 374 (an increase of 121 units). By my tally, I have sank at least 8 transports and sent 113 US ground units to the sea floor.

OBSERVATION on this game.

1. SUCCESS. The US has now conducted two amphib landings against Cuba. The first landing was successful with all US units making landfall at the peninsula northeast of Holguin. This second attempt has been a complete disaster as I continue to destroy the amphib ships before they make it to Cuban shores.

2. SUCCESS. An interesting point is that the US has conducted pre-invasion reconnaissance with aircraft, naval surface and submarine vessels. Additionally, the invasion was led by a considerable airstrike and missile strike from all available platforms - land, air, naval surface and submarine. Missiles strikes ranged from anti-ship, SLBM, ICBM, to many others showing that the AI is taking such offensive tactics into consideration.

3. SUCCESS. The AI performed the pre-invasion, invasion, and post-invasion strikes at the two separate landing sites (although not at the same time).

4. SUCCESS. The AI had helicopters aboard those ships which could carry them.

4. FAILURE. The AI does not "escort" its amphib ships to provide necessary coverage against submarine, air and missile attacks.

5. FAILURE. The AI does not seem to have the capability to perform multiple amphib landings.

6. FAILURE. The AI still cannot use airborne assets.

7. FAILURE. The AI cannot resupply its landing forces from available naval transports with helo assets.

Regardless, this game still ROCKS!

The little engine that could… That is the logo posted on the Cuban flag of all its military forces.

Picking up from where I last left off with this AAR, it is an interesting struggle as the war between Cuba and the United States continues. The last half of April 2022 was mostly uneventful other than a few US submarines found inside Cuban territorial waters NE of Havana. The intel showed that the first cluster of 2x US SSN-773 and 1x SSGN-726 and the second cluster of 2x SSN-773 subs as carrying anti-ship missiles and being such a considerable threat, the lone Cuban Tu-142M took on the arduous job of dispelling these vessels. The slow progress of the Tu-142M eventually routed the subs by the latter part of May 2022.

Cuban artillery and MLRS units continue to strike US ground forces in the southern half of Florida and the Florida Keys. The bridges leading to Key West have long since been destroyed and the stranded US units are slowly being destroyed.

In a surprising move, the US, early on the morning of 12 JUL 2022, declared war against the Bahamas . The Bahamian government vowed revenge and sent two PC boats along the US eastern coast and intimidated the shores from Vera Beach, FL to Mount Pleasant, SC. Their untimely deaths by US submarines ended the Bahaman force projection operations.

The Cuban strategy, thus far, has been the defense of Cuba, and to a lesser degree that of the Bahamas, but the continued success of the Cuban naval and air force against the US Navy has given cause to move into offensive operations.

The strategy change is two-fold and will have to be managed carefully to ensure the greatest success. Part one is the continued harassment and increased attacks against US ground forces in Florida. Part two, and more importantly, is the invasion of Puerto Rico.

From April 2022 to 01 JAN 2023 the Cuban navy and air force conducted relentless anti-ship/anti-submarine operations in the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic, and eastern coast of the United States. During that time 2x US CGN-52, 4x FFG-7, and 1x AKE-1 were destroyed. Continuous recon is being conducted by Cuban spies along the US east coast to ensure every possible US ship is tracked, stalked, and sunk.

On 15 JAN 2023 the US conducts a surprise attack with submarines from its Florida Keys towards Havana. Cuba almost lost one its two Zumwalt warships, which barely made it to dry dock for repairs. From 15-19 JAN 2023 the US conducts hundreds of airstrikes against Cuban targets in central Cuba vic Santa Clara and Trinidad. Several of these air strikes originated from Puerto Rico, which was a small surprise. During this time 2x DDG-71 and 1x DDG-51 were sunk along the Florida Keys as they maneuvered towards Cuba.

The first week of February was just as violent as Cuban ASW aircraft found 1x US SSN-21, 2x US SSGN-726, and 1x US SSN-774 along the north Cuban coast vic Cardena. The combined efforts of the Cuban Tu-154M , Cuban Zumwalt, and Cuban SSN-774 successfully routed all of these submarines, accept for the SSN-21 which was destroyed.

ASSESSMENT. The positioning of the US submarines, continued airstrikes vic Santa Clara and the repeated attempts by US surface ships to move into the Cuban coastal area north of Santa Clara gives reason to believe that the next amphib assault will occur at this location. Destruction of the US surface warships, the routing of US submarines, and the air defense setup in Cuba deterred any such amphib operation. Continued Cuban airstrikes against US surface naval units and rigorous recon efforts by Cuban aircraft, surface warships, and submarines has deterred any US movement through or around the Bahamas.

CONCLUSION. I assess that the real threat from another US amphib landing as LOW and improbable for the foreseeable future against either Cuba or the Bahamas. The US is very capable of an airborne strike against either region, however the likelihood of such attack is considered LOW to NONE.

Cuban recon missions along the US east coast were successful in locating numerous amphib capable vessels, along with plenty of surface warships, and an unknown number of submarines positioned all along the coast. Additionally, the US carrier fleet is still in port and has yet to move outside of those protective coves. During the month of February the Cuban SSN-774 was instrumental in the destruction of 1x AO-187, 1x AOE-1, 1x LSV-1, and 1x TAKR-287 – another 70,000 tons of cargo capacity of the US amphib fleet sent to the bottom. As February was coming to a close two Cuban Zumwalts fought and destroyed 1x SSGN-726 as they screened the Florida Keys.

During the months of March and April Cuban spies were dispatched to Puerto Rico to begin assessments for an invasion. US troops defending the island were scarce at best, but still better equipped than the Cuban forces. To equalize the playing field I deployed 8x long range MLRS at the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic who began bombarding the west coastal cities of Puerto Rico. Two Cuban Zumwalts moved into position near Mayaguez, P.R. and assisted in the initial attacks against US forces on the island. With the expectation that the US would most likely send aircraft to help defend the island I had deployed several S-400 and SA-12A air defense units along the northern coast of the Dominican Republic (D.R.). Cuban SOF was flown to the D.R. in prep for combat operations against P.R. After careful examination of the island it was decided that the small island SE of P.R. would be the first target and here is the timeline of events:

030600 MAY 2023 the city of Fredriksted fell to Cuban forces.
181400 MAY 2023 Mayaguez, P.R. fell to Cuba
270000 MAY 2023 Ponce, P.R. fell to Cuba
280800 MAY 2023 Arecibo, P.R. fell to Cuba
051400 JUN 2023 Guaynabo, P.R. fell to Cuba
090600 JUN 2023 Vega Baja, P.R. fell to Cuba and at this point all US aircraft vic San Juan scrambled to return to the US mainland. Each aircraft, because of my deployed AD in the area, were at 30% strength or lower. There were 6x F-22D, 2x F-35C CV, 1x F-22A, 7x F/A-18C, 2x RF-15CJ, 1x F/A-18E, 1x F-15C, 3x AH-64D and 1x UH-60. My Zumwalt, S-400, and SA-12A AD assets immediately began shooting down the enemy aircraft as I moved to deploy my limited air force. In all, I believe that only 2-3x F-22D, and 2-3x F/A-18C were the only survivors – however, I can’t fully confirm this claim.

Between 10-12 JUN 2023 Cuban and US forces fought for the city of Bayomon, P.R.with control switching back and forth at least five times with Cuban forces being the victor. Shortly thereafter at 141400JUN 2023 Cuba SOF airdropped into San Juan and Caguas and ended the battle for the island. Every time a new city was taken, the US would send a mixture of approximately 10-15 aircraft to assist in the battle. Most interesting is that the US did not send any warships or submarines to assist in defending Puerto Rico. Although Cuba was mildly prepared to deal with such contingencies it was with great relief to know that fight was not to happen.

As Cuba ended its combat operation on P.R. it began reconstituting its forces and redeploying to ensure the safety of the homeland while a minimal number of troops were left on P.R. As June closed on its final days the Cuban SSN-774 added one more SSGN-726 to its list of kills. Sadly the real numbers of kills awarded to this sub remain low as 90% of its kills have been with missile strikes.

TIME NOW: 07 JUL 2023:

US Treasury: -$1.57 trillion; Debt: $9.68 trillion; DAR: 21%; MAR: 40% (of note is that this number has fallen a full 10% since Cuban took over Puerto Rico.

CUBA DAR: 37%; MAR: 81%; LOSSES: 183 (+6) KILLES: 530 (+81)

Strategy Change: With the successful assault on Puerto Rico, and the subsequent heavy hit to the US DAR and MAR, plans are now being put into action towards the successful assault of Hawaii. There are new difficulties to overcome but the overall plan will be the same: a) anti-ship/anti-sub operations b) recon with spies, naval, air assets.
