CWAAR USA

December Summary

The Agriculture and Timber shortage continues and seems to be effecting the Northern Hemisphere regions the most. Maybe the spring will bring some new crops.

WAR!! War has escalated in Southeast Asia as China has now intervened on behalf of North Vietnam. Chinese units are now engaging French and its Allies for control of the region. Soviet ships have seen in the area. Most of the fighting this month took place around the Village of Vinh.
North Vietnamese Guerillas have been in control of village all month and have been repelling every attack made by France and Belgium. Some Fighting has occured at the Capital City of Thainguyen, which is pretty much isolated. Stronghold of the NV government and its military leaders, its proven to be a tough nut to crack. Chinese units are advancing from Hong Gai and might be able to take the Sea Pier and Airfield at Hai Phong unless France can get some reinforcements to help the battered and beaten units sitting in and around that small town.

The Hundane Administration continues to support France and its Allies with Military Goods. No decision has been made on whether or not the US will send ground troops to the area. Diplomacy has been concentrating on providing regions friendly to the USA with Military Goods and designs to maintain their security. Some more support may be coming in the following months by the way of Modern Equipment and Supporting the Ruling Party.

Domestically the outlook is still improving with job growth in all sectors. Domestic Approval Rate is up. Recent trade deal with Japan secured over weeks worth of Consumer Goods. Except for Agriculture and Timber all markets are Excellent and prices continue to decline.

China is losing 4M a year to emmigration, most are settling in the USA. This and the post-war baby boom is putting an urgent need on Food and Timber. Agriculture Facilities will be a top priority.

The Navy has finished its next to last phase of reorganization. Military leaders are still debating on how many Aircraft Carriers will be needed and what types missions they may be needed on for next several years.

Research on a few projects should be completed this month and this should allow the Army to field and replace the outdated Infantry units in inventory.
The navy should be able to start building her new ships this month, one capable of launching missiles.

Plans for January.

Monitor the North Vietnam Situation.
Continue to build Agriculture facilities.
Continue to Upgrade Military.

curious as to how you compile such detailed statistics? are you just querying other countries' stateboards from clicking on their territory?

Not sure what stats your referring to exactly but I do use all the info I can when I type up the summaries and then try and kinda ad-lib some sort of a story-line to it. For example...
China is losing 4M a year to emmigration, most are settling in the USA.
China is indeed losing 4M a year to emmigration, The US is getting over 2M immigrants. Where the US immigrants are coming from exactly, I have no idea, just thought I would throw it in that most are coming from China. :D It might be a storyline to use or it may turn out to be a dead-end.

The next coming months Ive added a little more RP into the summaries.

USA AAR

January Summary

President Hundane reflected about his sudden rise to the President of United States, Leader of the Free World, while sitting in the Oval Office reading a memo. The election of `48 was was quite confusing for all. Harry S. Truman became President in 1945 following the death of FDR. The VP office was vacant until May of 1948 when the Senate confirmed a relative unknown Dallas area politician from Texas by the name of George Hundane. On Oct. 7th of 1948 , Harry S. Truman resigned from office for reasons for apparent health reasons and VP Hundane was now the President with an election in less than a month. The election looked to favor the opponent Thomas Dewey but for some reason the voters elected (as on the ballots) the resigned Truman and VP Hundane which gave the Presidency to Hundane. Dewey has protested
the election results but the latest memo on the Presidents desk suggests that the election results would be upheld by the Supreme Court.

The New Year started off with Bang !! Literally. Insurgency in Malaya caused by the increasing amount of British troops and sympathy for the Communist in North Vietnam.
The incident didnt raise any red flags for the US but the Italians and the UK increased their Alert Levels in the following days.

The New Year also reminded everyone that Spring was near and stockpiles of Agriculture and Timber were now hitting the markets. The Hundane Adminstration continues its Agriculture building projects to feed the newly arriving immigrants , mainly from China, thats arriving in the US each day.

A fuel crisis started in Mid-January. Conjestion in the Suez Canal from military Merchant Marine transports along with French, British and other NATO combar ships boarding oil/petro tanker ships in the Med. Sea and Indonesian Straits have delayed fuel shipments around the globe. Many officials who are mostly from Texas in the Hundane Adminstration are calling for the US to "Drill Baby Drill".

The War in Vietnam is has not gone well for either side. China made an advance into Laos and was 32km from the Laotian Capital of Louang Phrabang but were stopped. The Chinese have several units out of fuel and French fighters keep the Chinese air transports grounded. The French and its Allies continue to take severe losses at Vinh, Thainguyen and Hong Gai.

The US continues to aid France and its allies by exporting them Military Goods.

Financially the Administrations policies seem to paying off. The treasury just started to run a surplus of almost 10M when the Petro shortage put a crimp into the numbers. Sales figures were down to this shortage in all areas. However, A senior advisor to the President has received a dire warning from a Washington D.C. based think tank. Its research has found
that if the US continues to buy up all the worlds available Petro, the world will soon see a shortage in Petro and this will result in a decline in manufacturing. Prices will skyrocket. The effect it has our allies economies could be dire. Other regions may resent our greedy consumption and relationships may turn sour.

To help ease the Petro consumption, more unneeded Consumer Goods-Mid and Industrial Goods-Mid facilities were scrapped. This should allow a reduction in Power production, so that Power-Power
facilites can be scrapped to reduce the Petro demand. More Coal fire Power facilities will have to built sooner than later. Some of the think tank researchers have concluded this wont be enough.

Plans for February.

Continue to monitor the Vietnam Area.
Continue to Upgrade Military
Start replacing Petro Power facilities with Coal Power.
Continue to increase supply in Metro areas.

Really like the detail. BTW what bombers are in your Strategic pool? What bombers do you put primarily in your Strategic pool? I like the B36 personally. When you get a full triad like polaris missile subs and land launched icbms could you do a Simulated attack on the Soviets?

Thanks
BTW what bombers are in your Strategic pool?
The bombers are the B-29 Superfortresses the USA starts the game with and thanks for the question, Ill start adding in that info on the report page.
What bombers do you put primarily in your Strategic pool?
ATM, the only bombers I will put in there are the Strategic Bombers (type). I havent a preference yet but Ill use what I have.
When you get a full triad like polaris missile subs and land launched icbms could you do a Simulated attack on the Soviets?
Yeah I could do that, be awhile before Im ready to attack though.

just started a USA game myself; thanks for the motivation :)

Quick question--like you, ive been putting B29s in the Strat Pool. I accidentally put a F86 as well; will it serve as escort for the bombers, or do nothing?

Have no idea if they will act as escorts.

Edit: New reports coming this week. Maybe tonight. Real life has been hectic for the past few weeks.
