Hi,
I am looking to start a new SRU game.. Do you have an estimate on when new version of your mod will be available (with the changes from christmas patch)? I'd like to wait until then :)

Hi,

Feel free to start a new game. A new version of the mod is still a few months away. There is just not enough content yet to release the new version of the mod and the new job is putting some severe restrictions on my free time. So, while the work on the mod is continuing the pace is somewhat slower.
Please teach AI to liberate and colonize instead of only annexing!

Hi,

Feel free to start a new game. A new version of the mod is still a few months away. There is just not enough content yet to release the new version of the mod and the new job is putting some severe restrictions on my free time. Alright :)

Also, I looked at diff of some files vs. originals and ended up updating the localization file - the one from your mod is really obsolete compared with vanilla (contains many fixed errors and missing a lot of strings). I updated the vanilla with changes in your version. Do you want me to send it to you? I can send it to mail or upload somewhere and post a link.

Actually I'm planning to remove some of the files from my mod since many of the issues they correct are now solved in vanilla game. What file exactly do you have in mind?
Please teach AI to liberate and colonize instead of only annexing!

This file is no longer needed for the mod. Vanilla file is enough.

The new version of the mod is finished!
Along with new equipment and database corrections, there were some major changes that will impact gameplay (especially early (WW1) gameplay. Airships are now reclassified as strategic bombers (I consider this role to be more realistic than early close support choppers). Also, early escorts and patrol boats have limited ASW capabilities.
Please report any errors you might found and hope you'll enjoy the changes.

Militia - build time reduced from 0.150 to 0.050, cost reduced from 0.007 to 0.001. It was funny to see militia being harder and costlier to build than regular infantry. That defies the concept of militia (cheap, below average forces that can be easily and fasly to build).
BTR-90 (514) - speed increased from 70 to 100, range increased from 610 to 800
BTR-94 (523) - speed reduced from 100 to 85, range reduced from 800 to 600
Motorcycle Recon (1019) - supply requirements were excessive. Supply capacity reduced from 1.200 to 0.050
M109A7 Paladin 155mm SP Howitzer - is now prereq for M1299A1 155mm SP Howitzer
100mm towed gun (5114) is now available only for regions B, S, T, V, X, Y, Z

Major unit database changes:
All early XX century destroyers and patrol ships now have some anti-submarine capabilities added. This is done to make subs less immune to surface unit and to represent some early ASW tactics such as ramming, mining, cabling,
netting, paravanes, shooting periscopes, loitering in the area or just waiting for subs to surface. Also, historically, early subs were not immune to escorts. While these ships are still not effective in ASW combat, they are now more likely to damage and chase off submarines and to increase risk
of sub operations (no more godlike mode for early subs).

Airships are now reclassified as strategic bombers. Also, their production is set to cease by 1920. From the start I considered BGs decision to place them in helicopter group wrong. Airships were never used
for supporting ground troops as attack helicopters, nor were loitering over the battlefield. Not to mention that airships coul'd not land on every field or open space. They actually required complex, heavily defended infrastructure and were harder to maintain than aircrafts.
They were used for bombing strategic targets. They had greater range compared to early bombers but were more costly and time consuming to build, coul'd reach lower altitudes and were slower. As such, they were quickly replaced
by fixed-wing bombers.

All WW1 tanks now have end production date by 1925.

Region X is stripped of all units it did not produced historically or were not local designs (ater BGs designated some designs as X region buildable).
