i can not wait more plss.. and do more weight modern times after 1980 maybe you can add start time 1970 or 1980

it would be awesome
Actually the great part of update with significant gameplay changes in naval area is almost ready but I'm coordinating with BGs over their new database entries. So, there will be version 2.0 :-)

As for the turkish goodies - some of the entries you proposed are already in the stock game (like Firtina or Altay). I'll see what can be done about other.

Anyway I need an advice from all of you. What do you think about removing some "world units". I'm thinking about removing early generic tanks like Mk I fast tank and similar designs. The reasonings for this - well, industrially undeveloped regions tend to researche them and then build hundreds of them , and by the time they do that they are already obsolete. And it is weird thing to see Thailand, Ethiopia or Egypt in '43 producing masses of tanks. My opinion is that it kills historical immersion. Also, I'm not sure what to do with generic cold war tanks. AI regions can buy tanks like they did historically and human players playing smaller regions can buy licenbces when they gain tech levels - like they mostly did historically.

Hello Zuikaku, it has been awhile since I have posted here, but I saw this and am wondering if this 2.0 version was integrated with the latest updates of SRU or SRGW. If so I'm curious to know what changes or updates you have made in 2.0. As always i appreciate your work!

Hi!

I don't really know at the moment what has been integrated in SRU/GW. BGs have not provided any info on this yet. Some 6 months ago we had a talk about this and at that stage new units from v2.0 were implemented along with some unit error fixes. Don't really know if and what else they took from the mod. A while ago I asked them to provide me with the list of changes implemented from my mod but there was no answer, guess they are busy at the moment so don't have time for that.

Anyway, I think they did not integrated ,what I call "mayor changes" from V2.0 of my mod. This was regarding sub vs. sub warfare of WW2 and pre WW2 submarines and realistic attack ranges of WW2 and pre WW2 destroyers (escorts and patrols) and some capital ships.
And since I can not test or check anything du toe my main gaming PC is still not repaired, I'm unable to confirm anything.

I've managed to save some data from the hard drive, among them is complete list of changes done for (still incoplete) V2.0, so if you are willing to check what has been integrated, I can send them to you.

Version 2,0 of the mod is uploaded!

There is still some work to do, but I have decided to leave this for the next versions. And also, hollidays are here.
Think this is the biggest mod so far since we have the whole new era now.
I have added many interwar aircrafts in order to both player and the AI have something to research in '20s,
since units of that era were somewhat scarce in the database. Also, I have added horse drawn supply wagons (researched for all regions at the start of 1914). Unfortunatelly, there is no apropriate pic, so we have good old truck depicting horse wagons.

Also, rather massive job of merging new SRGW unit database with my mod database have been done.
All WW1 artillery have realistic ranges now, so they shoul'd not be that much overpowered against slow moving infantry of the era.
Sub warfare have been redone too, submarines are no longer effective ASW platforms before homing torpedoes and boats that can use them are researched. Gamey usage of old subs as ideal defense against other subs is now history with this mod.

WW1 fighter airplanes have statistic reworked. Although the margin of changes possible was minimal, I felt that attack and defense values of these aircrafts could be represented better than having all values set to 1. So, by combining their attack and defense values I have tried to better represend superior maneuverability, armament or durability of later war fighters (compared to their early war counterparts). It is not ideal, but it is still better than before, at least I hope so.

More research centers have been added on the WW1 maps. I just feel that with AI not building them, there shoul'd be more of them for most regions. Maybe there are too many of them for 1914, but in long term games, AI regions are at least going to be somewhat more competitive against human player and maybe would be able too keep up with history regarding research. Ofcourse, you can chose not to have this change by not installing SR1914.OOF file. I'm open to suggestions regarding research centers.
Any suggestions regarding missing units, new units or unit stats are welcome.
Some of these changes (mostly new units) were implemented during development of SRGW into stock unit database.

Please note that errors are possible due to scope of changes, if you notice one, please let me know! Here is the complete list of changes:

BTR-152 - market availability set to 5, soft att lowered from 15 to 10 air def changed from 7 to 8 (not open topped like BTR-40) and indirect defense increased from 7 to 9
BTR-50P APC - soft attack increased from 10 to 12, hard att from 5 to 6, close att from 7 to 13, grnd deff from 10 to 13, air def from 7 to , indirect def from 7 to 9 and close defense from 9 to 11

I just felt this unit is overpowered. Main advantage of this APC is that it is supposed to be hard target in the world where specialised AT weapons and tactics are still scarce. T-14 Armata - market availability set to 2, hard att lowered from 90 to 60, close att lowered from 30 to 20, grnd def lowered from 72 to 50 air def lowered from 37 to 34 and close def lowered from 44 to 30

Corrected land, air and sea attack ranges of many WW1 pre-WW2 and WW2 destroyers which were incorrect.
WW1 artillery ranges toned down to historicall values - no more overpowered early artillery
All WW2, mid-war, WW1 and pre-WW1 submarines have their sub attack values reduced to 1/6 of their previous. WW2 era subs and older can no longer be used as effective ASW platforms. They can now hurt enemy subs ,but not are not efficient in doing that. Exceptions are: Gato class reduced from 260 to 100,
Balao Class reduced from 280 to 120, Vampire class reduced from 260 to 100, Neptun reduced from 360 to 140, Type VIIF reduced from 290 to 120, SS-417 Tench reduced from 310 to 150, Type XXI reduced from 310 to 170, Amphion reduced from 310 to 150, Type XXIII reduced from 310 to 150,

Default.TTRX file changes (tech tree changes):
Aircraft turbine engine design (1107) is no longer prereq for Air Force Production '43 (1684) - the reason for this is that development of piston engined aircrafts should not be limited or conditioned with jet engine techs. So, player can now decide if wants to commit full research effort on developing jet aircraft or new generation of piston engined aircrafts without need to research everything.

Hi!
Yes you can. Everyone can use the mod as it likes.
Why don't you contact Balthagor to include your models in the stock game?

That is a long list of changes. Congratulations on the release it must have been quite a bit of work to make ^_^

Edit: Also for horse-drawn wagons model 1790 might be a closer match to what you want.

I notice you added the "S-2 Pantsyr GM352 tracked" and you have changed S2-ADATSII Pantsyr Tech from 110 to 130

Assuming that the S2-ADATSII Pantsyr is indeed the wheeled Pantsir S2 with Janus Radar that is already well in service so I would make its tech 115/116.....
The Tracked Pantsir however hasn't been adopted by anyone as far as I am aware, nor have I seen any talk of contracts for it (2018 Russian Land Forces start to get a larger cut of the SAP Plan but they may place the latest Pantsir on one of the new Chasis, Armata or Kurganets when they decide to say replace Tunguska), with this in mind how are you picking the Tech Date? Year of 'Development' say of the GM-352 S1 or say the hypothetical year of 'Introduction' of such a future system?

In the latter case I would imagine given that there is still a long backlog of orders to be filled (Domestically and Export of the wheeled variants), pending use on Warships etc I'd say the Army will likely need wait a while to adopt it, Tunguskas still have a bit of life in them and plenty of other things are more sorely in need of modernization so I would probably suggest not before 2025 as a vague guess.... Especially if there is any temptation to maybe unify chasis with Armata or Kurganets

Anyway good job, look forward to giving this a go
