I added and overrid all what i had, cause i havn't changed the files you changed, except cvp. I changed unit file but that one was easy.

I have finished work on the update.
Version 1,7 is now available!

After some testing I have decided to give back China previously removed research centers. The main reason behind that is AIs innability to build research centers, so China
is never able to catch up with research. And also, japanese research capacity now depends on how successfull it is in war against China. More success leads to more research capacity.
Also, I have noted that many other regions are lagging too much in research. So I have added some more research capacity to France, Italy, UK and Sweden (which was historically pretty much up to date in research with other powers).
German research capacity is not increased since it increases through battlefield gains. So like with Japan, very successfull Germany results in high-tech Germany.

There are some significant gameplay changes early in the game that are going to change the way game "feels" early on. To cut the things short, there are no more tech free mobile or elite units.
All mounted, paratrooper or elite units now require some tech to be researched first. So, no more free Elite guards, paratroopers or mounted infantry for technicaly undeveloped regions!
There will be no more cases (at least I hope so) when Italians meet swarms of elite guards in Ethiopia. Also, halftrack mounted 20mm guns now actually require knowledge to be built.
So, no more third worlds countries building hundreds of these halftracks while they lack basic industrial and military techs!
Some early "world" tanks were toned down and completely redone or rebalanced (MkI Armor having higher stats than MkIII Armor). Also MkII Fast Armor insane speed was lowered to more realistic values in line of other contemporary "fast" tanks.

I spent a long time deciding is it worth or possible adding I-400 class submarine into the game. At first I ruled that out, but my commitment to the Empire of the Sun, the Emperor and IJN
forced me to include the damn sub! :D The other reason is - the sub was operational and existed! And yes, it can carry short deck aircrafts or helicopters. Seirans are also added.
But please note, this gigantic sub is time consuming and costly to research and build. While it has outstanding range, they are easy to detect, easy to destroy and are almost useless in combat
(except for raiding merchants). Seirans are also next to useless when researched. Don't except AI to ever build these monstrocities since they are considered useless even by it :lol:
So, for human player's pleasure only.

Also I have finally managed to add new russian APCs and IFVs, something I wanted to do since the first update but untill now I failed to find any needed data on them.

This mod is updated all the time whenever I find out about new peace of equipment or some old one missing in the database. Also, I'm correcting all the strange things I stumble upon during the gameplay. The ETA of the next update is uknown since I try to put together certain amount of content before releasing the new update.

As allways any info on missing or new units and units that needs rebalancing or corrections is most welcome!

So I've re-cached the game files yet the world 2020 sandbox is still vanilla, I suspect it has something to do with the "W2020.SAV" file since removing that causes the 2020 scenario to start re-caching again, yet a new "W2020.SAV" never shows back up. How do I go about recaching that file so I can enjoy the nice modern stuff added to the game?

It shows back but in your save file and is named "CACHED - W2020.sav". Copy these into the game cache folder and rename it to W2020.sav and try starting the new game again.
Please teach AI everything!

It shows back but in your save file and is named "CACHED - W2020.sav". Copy these into the game cache folder and rename it to W2020.sav and try starting the new game again.
Thanks! Also with WW2 China, the thing that makes it too strong isn't the research, it's that the country is unified when it should be divided into Communist China, and maybe a Northern and Southern China (I forget the names of the cliques off hand) which should be colonies of China. Kind of like how the Soviet Union in the Cold War scenario has all the republics as separate countries under colonial management of the USSR.

Version 1,8 is available!

This version continues to rebalance "problematic" units. Most notably, "world" tanks have been assigned only to regions which do not have designs of their own.
Rather serious amount of time was invested in assigning correct ranges to most post WW2 artillery (although for some units info could not be found).
As many players have noticed, early missiles were missing for most regions and this somewhat hampered gameplay and made research of early rocket techs almost useless for these regions. But not anymore since all regions now have their own unique early (WW2 era) missiles comparable to V-1 and V-2 designs. Italian players will again benefit greatly from this update, since with newly added units they will have rich choices of unit designs during WW2 era.

A.11 Matilda is no longer prereq for A.12 Matilda. There are 2 main reasons for that: 1. Both models were conceived at the same time (one as male and other as female infantry tank) so Matilda II is paralel design rather than the one derived from Matilda I. 2. In 1936 scenario AI never researches Matilda I so Matilda II is unavailable later.
A.12 Matilda - soft att lowered from 4 to 3 (one MG + main gun with AP ammo only), grnd def increased from 11 to 12
PT-91 Twardy M 2001 (M84B) - set to be prereq for PT-16 and is no longer replaced by T-90S. Combat time changed from strange 9.032 to 10.000

And keep up the good work for the good cause. I honestly think that SR:U still has a lot of potential for updates and modding, but sadly I dont think there will be a lot from Battlegoat. I dont mean this to say anything negative about Battlegoat, but allthough they have all the good intentions, then they just dont have the ressources anymore it seems. Sad but true.

I appreciate any help in the form of:
- pointing out to the things in unit databas/stats that you consider to be wrong
- information on new unit types not present in the database
- old units that are missing from the database

I try to track info on new military equipment but it is very easy to miss something and extremely hard to find info on some things (like fuel capacity).
Please teach AI everything!

There is a missing unit thread, and you can also post it here or via private messages.
Regarding unit info... links to pages with unit info is enogh. More data the better. Units without most of the data are impossible to add since that woul'd be too much guessing and fiction.

I'm not sure what do you mean. Su-30 is listed as interceptor and Su-35 as multirole. I think that is correct (along with their stats) but I'm open to suggestions.

The Su-30 series was intended as a more or less multimission Su-27. Technically should be a multirol fighter.

Also I would leave the F-22 as multirol, aside of being an air superiority fighter, also takes the role of the F-117. Actually is far superior than the F-117 in ground attack missions.

I know but... with F-22 set as multirole aircraft, F-35 is never going to be built by AI and the F-14 woul'd be left as the best interceptor available. And also ,compared to F-35 F-22 is primary air superiority fighter and ground attack only in secondary role.

version 1,9 is finished!

This version along with new units brings multiple improvements to the gameplay.
But units first - after long thinking I have finally added Kikka and Karyu japanese jets. The main con these designs was that they were copies of german designs. After some reading about them it become clear that they were heavily influenced by german designs, but were not indentical neither by construction or performances. Also, new chinese stealth fighters were added since some data on them become available. I was a bit surprised that nobody realised Ka-52 was missing in the database and nobody noticed. Shame on you! :D

Also I tried to reduce garrison problem. Garrisons are now somewhat tougher to deal with, especially in pre WW2 and WW2 era. But after '50s and '60s they are becoming increasingly outgunned and by 2020 they are laughable (but now they are somewhat tougher than in stock). I think there is solution for this problem, but George need to do this and he is ... absent.

If you are tired of AI stacking scouts near bases doing nothing, that is history! AI will now use recons to screen teritory and support offensive and defensive operations outside of city and base hexes. also, it will use strategic bombers more agressively.

There is one additional file in this version of the mod, ColdWar.CSV file. I was somewhat tired of west Germany having advanced '70s techs in '49 that allowed them to build and research far more advanced units than they shoul'd causing gamebreaking disbalance of the game. This proved to be very frustrating task that consumed hours of my free time until I found the error in the file. West Germany is now stripped of all advanced techs for '49.
