Colony status

#1 Post by GIJoe597 » Jul 29 2017

What is supposed to happen to a colony when the parent is eliminated? Do they continue on as an autonomous nation?

That's what they used to do in ultimate. Haven't tried it in Great war yet.

The reason I ask; In my play through of GW, when a parent falls the colony carries on, yet they retain the title "colony". I was not sure if that is intended. They cannot be a colony if the parent no longer exits, I would think.

That should be fixed for the final release.

Wasn't this an SRU bug as well?

by title of colony he means government type is still set to colony.. noticed this last night when GB and france fell to the germans.

Does this problem only happen to me or does it still exist?

Yes, i always see this when France is eliminated.
Small issue in modern games, but still issue. That reminds me of my lost modern VOC/WIC mod. That was so cool all countries fighting all over the world. Countries with good relations to Russia or China i made colony to them, same with Netherlands, the old VOC Powerhouse. And the speed was super fast cause there was only few regions. Anyway i lost the mod because of a hard disk crash..
