IN SRGW, Kongo class battlecruiser is rated for 41-km/hour speed; this is incorrect.
Similarly, "Fuso" class battleships are rated with the same speed.
From a game perspective, why would a player build a "Kongo" battlecruiser which as the same speed as a
available battleship? Of course, we would not.
Per Wikipedia:
Speed: 27.5 knots (50.9 km/h; 31.6 mph)
Range: 8,000 n.mi (15,000-km; 9,200 mi) at 14 knots (26-km/h; 16-mph)
Please change the speed.
Source: Wikipedia - but there are lots of other sources in Japanese that roughly match this speed.

NOT in my game version of SRGW, Sandbox, playing Japan.......it is 41-km. [just check the summary data sheet when one opens the entry "Kongo Class"........Balthagor wrote:1913 Kongo is currently 51

Note the specific reference is to the 1913 BATTLECRUISER, having nothing to do with the 1990 missile destroyer (DDG).

This is v.10.1.38....that latest version posted on Steam.
As the header on the Forum post indicates, it is the "battlecruiser" (i.e., 1913), having nothing to do with the modern
missile destroyer (DDG).
As the separate post notes, showing this speed on the summary data sheet in looking for ship characteristics when ordering the "Kongo Class" entry, under CAP listings.

You probably want a 1930's version too. The Kongō class underwent extensive rebuilding during the late 1920's to mid 1930's in an attempt to circumvent first the Washington and later London naval treaties.
Among the changes where extensively upgraded armour (as in over 50% increase in weight), addition of torpedo bulges, boiler replacement allowing the ships to reach speeds of 29-31kn and changes to the secondary armament. The Kongōs of the pacific war are quite different from the british designed ships of 1913-15.

Re: SRGW - Japan - Unit ID# 17035 "Kongo" class battlecruiser (1933)
This was the modernized version provided BG for rating in the SR-36 game, though I have not checked to insure that they used it as originally provided. The "Kongo" class, as of 1933, was rated as below:Nerei wrote:You probably want a 1930's version too. Low Anti-Air: 18
Medium Anti-Air: 11
High Anti-Air: 0

Note. The original British completed IJN KONGO (and follow-on Japanese built ships) would have a slightly lower anti-air rating and Defense ratings, as the early-30s rebuilds for the class improved overall protection, etc.
