Great Britain - Revised Air order-of-battle location & numbers

Post by geminif4ucorsair »

Great Britain did have sufficient aircraft on-hand for organized squadrons, in 1914, that could be included in SRGW.

The below inventory and recommended basing locations, are recommended:

* Eastchurch [Isle of Sheppey] - [co-located with Short Aviation manufacturing plant) (X 824 Y 147)

Note: ADD: Air Base; Aircraft production (Short Aviation) added - nothing in hex currently).
Add other facilities as you feel necessary for a seaplane manufacturer and basing at this location.

* 10 x Short Admiralty Type 74 (Patrol; recon-seaplane type) [half-squadron]
* 9 x Short Admiralty Type 135 (Patrol; recon-seaplane type) [half-squadron]
* 9 x Short Admiralty Type 166 (Patrol; recon-seaplane type) [half-squadron
* 12 x Short Admiralty Type 860 (Tactical Bomber; torpedo seaplane type) [half-squadron]

Historically, No. 4 RAF squadron was the first to occupy Eastchurch air base.

* Farnborough (London) - (X 819 - Y 147) Add: Air Base to location

* 18 x R.A.F. Re.5 /7 (Tactical Bomber; bomber-recon type) [squadron]

---------

* Filton (X 809 - Y 142) Add: Air Base to location.

* 10 x Short-Admiralty Type 860 (Tactical Bomber; torpedo seaplane type]
