Re: Multiplayer
No I'll be away. Maybe ~1900 or another day?
Gameranger is very easy to use and no need to create artificial LAN emulators so I really prefer it. Just create a room, others join and click start

Re: Multiplayer
Need to wait for Jolly to respond, he proposed the date/time.
I have used Gameranger before, for SR2020, just not SRU.

Re: Multiplayer
So there was a huge traffic today, I got home late.
Actually a little bit more than an hour late.
My friend said that there had been an accident outside his house, but I went by and saw nothing.
Anyways, I haven't used Gameranger before, but similar programs. I could test it.
If someone could leave a download link, then that would be nice.
I've only looked for e minutes and I've already found two sites with "Gameranger" and I don't know which one is the real one so to say.
Is it gameranger.com ?

Re: Multiplayer
After communicating with Jolly today, it was decided he is not available for the type of game I am looking to start. I would like to play at least once a week, same day/time. It would be a scheduled day, all players would set aside that time/day to play.
Kristijonas - We saw you on GR today playing a game, and did not want to interrupt you, but what is your situation? Are you able to commit to a weekly game?
There are many games one can jump into on a whim and play for a short time and enjoy them, SR series is not one of them, it requires a time commitment to actually accomplish anything in the game.
Based on these forums and the Steam forums, it appears either people have moved on from SRU, or only play it in single player. For me this a big difference from SR2020, as the series is extremely better when played as MP.

Re: Multiplayer
Could you tell me a bit more about the game you have in mind? Which starting year, what countries we would be playing and with what settings/rules?
I would gladly invite you to that game I'm playing, however it has slowed to a crawl even on my superfast PC it takes at least a couple minutes for a day to pass. It is a very serious long term game though so we play it even if it's slow. We also accept other players to join anytime. But like I said, the game speed is painful.

Re: Multiplayer
Great settings overall!
However I would prefer these to be different:
Hot Relations: High (I would suggest very high, because even on very high there are few wars after several years into the game)
Start Without Units: Yes (this severely compromises gameplay in the first years, human players will have a disproportionate disadvantage. Also there are countries with 0 land fabrication and they will never be able to stand a day in war)
Loyalty penalties: yes (I would prefer this to be off otherwise smallest countries will suffer the most for conquering other countries + there is no way to avoid these penalties EVER, so it's unrealistic)

Re: Multiplayer
Hey guys,
I want to play too. I can play Saturday any time and during the week in the evening Eastern time. I would choose Poland. I sent GIJOE an invitation via steam. Gameranger would be fine.

Me and HSVForever are playing a very long game
Starting scenario was 2020 global crisis. Year is now 2035. We play Belarus and Iran. We play on gameranger. Always with latest legal version. All are welcome to join play a country you choose except for the sttongest ones. Balkans should be particularily interesting to play. Serbia and montenegro in particular should be real fun. Write a PM if interested. Best if ur from Europe though we plqy at night too
