Ahhh the fine old traditional pastime of the Obama Administration... Keeping the Boot of Government on the Neck of business.

...his administration is preparing to issue the single most expensive environmental regulation in U.S. history, a job-killing rule it is under no obligation to impose on the struggling economy.
For one thing, it’s premature, coming a full two years before the EPA is scheduled to complete its own scientific study of ozone emissions in 2013.
The EPA estimates these new standards could cost business anywhere from $20 billion to $90 billion annually.
Just what our economy needs! Billions and Billions more in regulatory burden.

Probably only about 65 or so pages of that.....

A federal wildlife biologist whose observation in 2004 of presumably drowned polar bears in the Arctic helped to galvanize the global warming movement has been placed on administrative leave and is being investigated for scientific misconduct.....
Im shocked i tell ya shocked !

That they would actually manage to get around to something like "scientific integrity" ....since when has that been involved at all in the promotion of the agw scam ......

United Nations Security Council is considering forming a Green Police security force to deal with potential conflicts caused by global warming. The special force would wear green helmets rather than the blue helmets currently worn by U.N. forces.

More info is leaking out about what monnett is being investigated for.For one thing, his wife "peer reviewed" his paper.....And theres now some serious question about the photo which may or may not show a dead polar bear.Seems the photo ,which is very hard to make out to begin with, was digitally altered, and may have had the code that identifies information about a picture stripped from it.

The code usually contains things like date and camera.IE When it was taken and by what. Its being said this code is no longer attached to the photo.

And at least one of the authors of the study the pic is tied to, and that launched the whole " polar bears are dying due to global warming" is now saying he never mentioned global warming in the study, and though he admits its inferred ,he's no longer so keen to stand by that inference.

New group study about to be released
Over the last two years he has been looking at C12 and C13 ratios and CO2 levels around the world, and has come to the conclusion that man-made emissions have only a small effect on global CO2 levels. It’s not just that man-made emissions don’t control the climate, they don’t even control global CO2 levels. The higher levels of CO2 in recent decades appear to be mostly due to natural sources. He presented this research at the IUGG conference in Melbourne recently, causing great discussion and shocking a few people.

Deforestation isn't helping this. Dead trees release carbon dioxide, live trees eat it. So the cycle of life continues. Bought the game Fate of the world a while back and it is pretty interesting in the Global Climate change aspect.

Technically... that's not true. Cutting down trees and using the lumber basically fixes an amount of carbon somewhere on the surface - not in the atmosphere. If you replant as well as cut down, you actually get a net carbon reduction.

Trees are the one "Green Tech" answer that I truly enjoy and approve of. Most Suburbs and cities now plant trees all over the place, and I don't care if they save the planet or not, I just like trees.   I'm actually a tree hugger, I just don't think that it involves destroying anyone's way of life in favor of them.

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/ ... bert-bryce#
Texas has 10,135 megawatts of installed wind-generation capacity. That’s nearly three times as much as any other state.
...and here y'all thought we were a bunch of regressive, back woods bumpkins!
Over the past few years, about $17 billion has been spent installing wind turbines in Texas. Another $8 billion has been allocated for transmission lines to carry the electricity generated by the turbines to distant cities. And now, Texas ratepayers are on the hook for much of that $25 billion, even though they can’t count on the wind to keep their air conditioners running when temperatures soar.
HAHAHA!! 25 BILLION! ...wait, what do they mean "can't count on the wind"?
Consider the afternoon of August 2, when electricity demand hit 67,929 megawatts. Although electricity demand and prices were peaking, output from the state’s wind turbines was just 1,500 megawatts, or about 15 percent of their total nameplate capacity. Put another way, wind energy was able to provide only about 2.2 percent of the total power demand even though the installed capacity of Texas’s wind turbines theoretically equals nearly 15 percent of peak demand. This was no anomaly. On four days in August 2010, when electricity demand set records, wind energy was able to contribute just 1, 2, 1, and 1 percent, respectively, of total demand.
Wait! What?!?!? These freaking windmills don't produce electricity worth a Spit when you need them most? WTF?  |O

Read the article, lot's of good facts. Meanwhile, I think I'll weld an I-beam onto my F-250 and go tilting at some windmills...

(P.S. Have fun when your entire power grid is dependent on these boondoggles Britain.)
That $25 billion could have been used to build about 5,000 megawatts of highly reliable nuclear generation capacity, or as much as 25,000 megawatts of natural-gas-fired capacity, all of which could have been reliably put to work during the hottest days of summer.

In case you didn't notice that "25GW of natural gas capacity" thing, the reason it's so high is that the generation capacity is cheap to set up - the main cost is in the gas itself. The nuclear capacity is much closer to the real cost of electricity, since the power station is the main cost for nuclear power, rather than fuel. Still, it should really be compared with the $17 bn figure, since that was the amount actually installing wind capacity in texas. If we bump that up to $25 bn, we get about 2.2GW as opposed to the 5GW of nuclear power which is... better than I expected, really. Thing is, wind power isn't so much a 'reliable capacity' thing as a 'save fuel when they're on' thing as I understand it. Still. Is there some kind of federal subsidy involved with wind power? Because "a little more than twice as expensive as nuclear" still seems a fair bit cheaper than I expected.
