Commander in Chief?

Post by Bobb4 »

A new PC game scheduled for release from Eversim soon.
Was wondering about the similarities of the two products and are you aware of the project.
Obviously you know where my money is going to be spent but interested to here your thoughts.
My opinion is it seems to be sort-of based on the HOI and Real War (anyone remember that old game) engine with a bit of diplomacy chucked in.
My guess is they are attempting to ride on your coat tales but was wondering what you guys think anyway.
It's a french company, so that puts me off already and the graphics look very dated.

Isnt this just the repackaging of Mission: President ?
That French game that was released in horrible shape.

Here is what I've found out about the game.
It's called Geo Political Simulator.
In Europe it was released as "Mission President". Was... last year I think.
In the USA it's being called "Commander-In-Chief".

We are aware of it. We had tried to get it but had some trouble at the time. Maybe under "Commander-In-Chief" it'll be easier to purchase. I wonder if they have made changes, hoping it's a bit better than what we've seen already. I tried to find either game through searching for previews/reviews etc.... but I had trouble. Although there are similarities between the games... there are many differences too. It seems like they packed so much more into the game and although some of their graphics look nice, other graphics don't appeal to me. I'm not sure but we think you don't actually control your military in "Commander-In-Chief". It could be more like Super Power where you declare war on a country and watch the units move. If I'm wrong let me know.

you are not wrong. The military side is too simplified, eg. MLRS take out entire armies. That said the game has it's strong areas

I will be buying the game. While graphics are crap its not the graphics that are important its the game play. They are also constantly updating the game as well with patches.

Really? Then why didn't Al Gore or John Kerry do better and win an election -- didn't they have high school diploma's?

The only conflict in US history I can think of that didn't have a single president preside over it is Vietnam. Any president who gets involved in war tends to remain Commander until it's over.

Feltan, they didn't get elected so I can safely say that personal success and intelligence doesn't have much to do with elections.

And technically world war 1 also,as Harding was president when the actual peace treaty with germany was signed.

Than theres the Korean war,2 presidents also i think.

And dont forget the ever popular "war on drugs".Ive lost count of how many presidents have been involved in that one :P

CiC looks interesting to me. Data comparing regions is all over the screenshots, which is great, exactly what games in this genre need. Plus there is a screenshot of a social policy screen and international comparisons, meaning that not all regions are alike, hooray. Maybe it's buggy or whatever like tkobo says, but I will be looking for a review at least.

You are correct. Take a look at the nominees lined up for this election.
