It's being funded by UAE and Saudi Arabia and is suppose to be completed by 2020. I thought this was a novel idea, to unite African economies with Middle Eastern and Asian economies. Pumping up to 1 Trillion dollars into this project makes me little suspicious about the reasoning behind it. I'm assuming because Saudi and UAE might run out of oil in the near future that they want to be an industrial powerhouse in the region.

I want to hear your guys opinions on this.
