When no child left behind was pushed,is when this is said to have started.When the race to the top was pushed,is said to be when this accelerated.

Atlanta was in fact a "winner" in the race to the top program.And its not just atlanta or even Georgia.Investigations are under way in many states now,for instance in Pennsylvania they've started an investigation into 60 schools.N.J.,La.,DC,etc...The list is growing.

And the kicker,in many of these cases the teachers because of union rules will be allowed to resign.Its likely many wont resign or be fired,and some of those who are lined up to be fired will take months if not years to actually fire even if its decided they will be fired.

Those resigning may well get their pensions.And at least some of those waiting to be fired,will likely draw pay while waiting.

And how many will be prosecuted for the laws theyve broken is a huge question.

That is actually a common news theme I see coming out of the US. The higher up the line, the less accountable people in the US seem to be. The more wide spread the crime the weaker the consequences... (or so my opinion goes).

Hmmmm... So what you're saying is that all senior bureaucrats above a certain level deserve an automatic death sentence to redress previous wrong committed by them and their predecessors?

Sad thing is that there's nothing you can do to the teachers. They can't be fired due to the unions protecting them, so they will continue to make ~50-60K a year for working 8 months, and get excellent pensions and healthcare plans.


You just don't mess with the teacher unions. Look at what happened in Wisconsin.

Actually,if you follow the news, the unions are losing currently,especially the teachers unions across the board.So we might just see them knocked down to a more fitting role again, where they protect those in them when they deserve it....and NOT as an automatic reflex even when those in the union are clearly in the wrong.

This event here,which is still growing,will be a nice "weather mark" to see how much progress against the insane parts of the current unions has been made.

the largest school in california, has had to reshuffle its entire teaching staff.2 teachers have been currently charged with various sex related offenses at the Miramonte Elementary School in la, and the "investigation' is on going.

One of the teachers had complaints lodged against him as far back as 18 years,but the local education bosses as well as the union kept silent.

So far this year in Ca alone,at least 4 schools have had similar incidents or those of violence committed on school children by teachers.In one school alone ,Eight school district employees,have been put on paid leave,over violence (and/or their handling of it) against children in the school by the 8.
