The Banking system returned to fairly un-socialist normal after the last round of bail outs in the late 80's. The Feds sold off the stuff they had control of pretty quickly. Hopefully the government will not develop a taste for the mortgage business. LOL

What does Mortgage do as a harmful thing? I barely know about it as a very slow purchase contract for a house you pay slowly.

Which like any other loan, can be a bad one.Which is part of what happened here.IN a large rush of greed,far too many of the loaners,made loans that were unwise and hence went bad.

These huge defaults meant huge loses for the loaners (many of which were banks and investment companies),and since many of the loaners spread out and shared the risk with other companies thru other tranactions,they all got hit hard and very few of them had someplace to turn to having already drawn in most of the possible companies that they might have.

Put simpy, they overwhelmed the system so badly with bad debts (loans that were not repaid in the form of mortgages),by involving so many of the companies the system relies on, that the system had no way to cover itself.
Normally bad debt can be spread around and even sold.But in this case there was so much bad debt,that already affected so many companies,it couldnt be.
As there was not enough places to spread it to or sell it off to,becuase too many of them were already owners of said bad debt.

the average american works over 40 hours a week and takes less than 2 weeks off a year... gdp rose 3.3% in the second quarter of 2008 and is estimated to continue growing at 3.1% up to 2014... by per capita earnings are expected to rise 4% annually until at least 2012.. unemployment will stay at around 5%... inflation is a little high this year... but its safe to say an utter collapse wont happen... europe on the other hand i worry about... seems the eu is turring into the next communist state...

Human selfishness is a fact. Why not learn to tame it,put temporary restraints to it instead of glorifying it to a terminal limit? Look at the world around you. At one corner there is enough infrastructure that when applied, could feed billions and boost other animals' and plants' etc... growth as well, so farmers are paid NOT to grow food to keep food prices high enough to be taxed. At another corner we have starving kids, half-fed undereducated kids, a.k.a Terrorist bait that can throw away their lives for drugs and money and guns, and never manage to see there is a world beyond all the civil wars. Yet we sink into poverty, and fail to manage resources to ensure chances to get rich for anyone. Do you think a poor hard working asian or african factory worker doesn't have the will to get rich? I mean, I remember capitalists often boast about "those who want to earn well work hard and get rich", wake up and smell the nuclear waste, unless you are white and western, all the hard work means nothing.

But wait, I forgot that the key to Europe's and the U.S prosperity is purchasing raw materials and importing labor at outrageously low prices from Asia and Middle East. That's how you prospered in the first place. That's how the Western World sets up a global economy that you alone would sit on top and make sure the rest never catches up with you. Once you said:"But all the civil wars' isn't our fault, the Africans never try to catch up?" Nice job setting their bar of difficulty to a ******* nightmare in 19th century! Oral culture destroyed, their indigenous religion forcibly removed and replaced with Christianity (or Islam, though not even Middle Eastern culture managed to rape Africa that deep like you did, they did take some slaves, colonize a few cities for trade good they needed etc.)Do you know the debts the rest of the Third World has? Lots of developing countries are bleeding their labor costs to death just to pay the debt interests, while their brains get drained abroad to make you richer and them even worse. Let us give one example. Just one, for the sake of length.

Even today, France based corporations has advantageous trade deals going on in Africa, am I not right? What do you think Côte d'Ivoire's name stands for? Ivory Coast! Khan, here is a more detailed example of what they are trying to do to the United States. I'll answer you in more detail when I get more time.

EXPLAINING OUR UNITED STATES TAXING SYSTEM WITH BEER

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all
ten comes to $100.
If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go
something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that’s what they decided to do.

The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the
arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve. ‘Since you
are all such good customers,’ he said, ‘I’m going to reduce the cost of
your daily beers by $20 . Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.’

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so
the first four men were unaffected.
They would still drink for free. But what about the
other six men -
the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that
everyone would get his ‘fair share?’ They realized that $20 divided by
six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then
the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink
his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce

money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how
our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most
benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being
wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might
start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

There is NO reasonable comparrison to be made between Israeli having children around soldiers(teaching them to respect and understand the wars, soldiers and situation and be prepared to take their place when they become adults) and Hamas using children in combat and /or strapping bombs to them.
To Hamas(and their kind) using their own women and children as human shields.

Israel doesnt even take people into the service til 17 (18 for conscription).
Hamas and their kind strap bombs on 11yr olds, and try to make them suicide bombers.Hand out automatic rifles to 10 year olds, and put them in combat.

NO reasonable comparrison at all.

That you even try to make a comparrison between ROTC like functuions, and 3rd world crap holes putting their children in direct combat,stapping bombs to them, and hiding behind them ... is just insane....


I doubt Israel would even have conscription, IF their neighbors werent made up of so many backward psychotic lowlifes bent on murdering them.

There is NO comparrison to western regions teaching their children to be thankful to and for soldiers,and african 3rd world regions conscripting 8 year olds.
