How do i mod a country to be my colony

Please assist,

I tried to mod SRU-CW sandbox game so that Rhodesia is a colony of South Africa, but without success.
I watched a video that explained how to get a country to be part of your territory, but not as a colony.

I basically want to start the game with Rhodesia as my colony, then grant it independence with a government friendly to me...

There is a variable for "parentregion" in the .CVP file. Add the ID for the region you will play to the data for Rhodesia and recache. Back up before modding
