ok, so what would keep Siam from annexing Vietnam as well? the Japanese interest in the region?
Yes. I'm planning on putting a Japanese military base in Vietnam somewhere.

A huge number lol. The initial release will have few, if any, but we have plans to include stuff like the unification of Germany in 1990 (only in this game it is the unification of the German Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire) various colonial wars and independence events, the creation of Israel, the Austro-Hungarian civil war, and the creation and expansion of the United Arab Republic. One event that I'm working on now is one of the factions in the Austro-Hungarian civil war. In the war there will be ethnic groups trying to gain independence from the empire and form their own states along ethnic lines like Hungary or Croatia for example, but there will also be Unionist elements that want to keep the Empire together but reform it. One of these is a communist faction that wishes to form the "Federal Socialist Republic of the Danube" led by a Croatian named Josip Broz Tito. Speaking of which, if anyone wants to come up with a flag for the Federal Socialist Republic of the Danube please feel free to post!

I'm thinking a Polish rebellion against Germany( I know a focus a lot on Poland but I feel it would be really interesting as it is usually is overlooked)

I love drawing flags, so i'd me happy to make a few versions for it. but first i'd need to know the "potential borders" of the country? would it be the size of yugoslavia? would it include Bulgaria? or would it just be the part of yugoslavia that was within the austro hungary on your map?

Ok, so this is what i'm assuming you'd consider the Danube republic.
Image
the areas marked yellow, are areas considered South Slavic that would likely secede from austria hungary. the areas striped with yellow, are also majority south slav, but were considered as an integral part of either austria or hungary.
in fact after ww1 Carinthian Slovenes had a vote to either stay in Austria, or join the then Slovene-Croat-Serb country, but due to the threat of invasion by both Italy and Serbia, they opted to stay in austria because it was safer.

a point I'd like to make is the Josip Broz Tito didn't have any influence both politically or militarily anywhere in the region until after world war 2, and the election results after world war 1 show the population of this area only had a very tiny communist population, so if there was a revolt there is basically no chance Tito would lead it, and a very slim chance it would be socialist.

Instead I believe a republic would have a greater chance of forming, as it did after ww1.

The communists will only be one faction in a larger civil war. Also, the Federal Socialist Republic of the Danube is the new name for a united, communist Austro-Hungarian Empire. The civil war won't happen until the late 30s/early 40s and the communists will be one of the weaker factions. Still, I think TIto makes a good leader of the rebellion because he likely would have taken up arms in an Austro-Hungarian civil war. There will be a republican faction as well and of course all of the various ethnic groups in the empire will have their own factions as well.

Ok
I made this:
Image

the idea here is that communists wouldn't want to represent individual nationalities, instead they'd want to melt them together with ideology.

the 8 stars represent the 8 republics of the theoretical nation. i made them blue to symbolize the Danube River. the white stripes I just added in for effect, as a plain red flag didn't appeal to me, but if you want to change that, it's easy to do.
EDIT
also the ratio is 3:2, if you need a different ratio, let me know

Hey dude I really need to know. How did you make the map for your mod. I have wanted to make a type of WWI map for a long time. I don't understand how exactly you did it

I made another one for the Danube communists
Image

the 10 stars represent the 10 main nationalities of Austria-Hungary

the blue on top represents the sky, the blue on the bottom, the sea. the gray wave represents clouds, and the green represents the land.

however you can also give it a more communist interpretation saying the communism in the middle of the flag, acts as a glue, unifying the top class with the bottom class into a single entity.

god i hate communism... hahahaha, but that's the flag anyway. let me know what you think
