"Ghost" divisions.

Post by IonianSun »

Hi there!

When the Korean war errupted I sold some land divisions to South Korea. By the time these divisions reached the coast of China, South Korea was left with no barracs whatsoever. They "parked" their merchant marine carrying those divisions off the coast Taiwan and soon after got eliminated. A few months later, i discovered that those land divisions i sold still belonged to me. They are on North Korean coastal waters, just a hex away of the town of Cheju. They are just there, with no merchant marine carrying them. Is there any solution to that?
My current version is 9.1.3.8 and i started the 1949 scenario on the sandbox.
Thank you!

That is very odd. I do not believe I have ever seen this myself. I have no suggestion at this time. I am interested to read what others contribute.

Did SK fall or does it still exist?

If it fell, than I know the explanation, if it didn't, than I don't have the explanation :D

South Korea did fall. When they stopped the convoy of merchant marines, they just had a coastal town on the mainland and the island of the picture. They lost the town on the mainland and slowly the island. The only thing they never lost, up until they got eliminated, were the territorial waters of the island, where the units are positioned.

have seen this ghost divisions too:
in my case (playtesting my 2nd marsscenario)
eliminated an enemy and i guess i inherited some old units (found them only cause i wanted to scrap old-tech units)
i could center on them using the army unit list, but they are not visible on map and cant receive orders (or at least execute them).

I think something bad happened while the enemy region dissolved and maybe a full transfer of command was not completed.
Was not that bad only around 10 units or less.
