The development of SR Great War also allows us to continue work on the game engine for SR Ultimate, and we intend to push back new features and fixes to the SRU engine as they are made.
The most notable changes in this version for SRU are:
- Support for multiple WMDATA files - this is an internal engine change that makes playing extremely long-term games more economically viable, as the game 'baselines' will progress more realistically between eras (such as the price of oil, or consumer demand for goods, etc)
- Garrison Infantry upgrades - the 'Garrison Infantry' unit, which is auto-generated when a garrisoned town or facility is attacked, will now upgrade through tech research progress.
- Compatibility with SR Great War save games, so games can be started in SRGW and continued in SRU.
