Start a new game or wait for next patch?

Got back in the mood for Supreme Ruler, but given the amount of time a campaign can take, before starting it I'd like to ask: Is the next patch coming relatively soon and thus worth waiting for it? Or can I just go ahead and start playing without too many worries?

I haven't heard anything about it, it's been a while. I would start a new game, no guarantee there will even be a next patch.
