Russia and Turkey

Post by Tnarg »

What do you think in a modern world scenerio Russia would do with Turkey if Russia successfully invaded Turkey, annex or colonize? Just looking to see what other people's comments or expertise would be.

You could also chime in whether it would be a strategic sound choice as well. I'm watching my treaty integrity (69.5%), trying to build up CB against Turkey (72%), so I don't piss off the Ukraine and Belarus too much. They have given me a nice MD and Transit Treaties, but are stubborn to bring into an alliance.

A little background on my bigger plan.

I want take Turkey out of the picture before a full blown war in Europe happens when I decide to invade Norway and Denmark all at once to cut off access to the Baltic Sea, while gaining better access to the Atlantic. Of course once all of the European Leaugue partners minus Germany, Ukraine, Belarus, Serbia, and France declare war on me, my 20 tank and motorized rifle divisions stationed in Latvia and Belarus will steamroll Central Europe. The 8 divisions in Northern Europe will squeeze Sweden and Finland at our leisure, since they will be cut off. Muwahaha!

When I regroup to take the rest of Southern Europe I will have full access to the Mediterranean and thus have another axis to attack them from with my Southern TVD divisions which are are an additional 10 divisions + a sizable Black Sea Fleet Naval Infantry force and Fleet.

Or I could just leave Turkey alone as they are neutral and not allied to anyone even after 4 years.

I generally play the 1936 scenario, but I almost always conquer Turkey when I play the USSR.

The Black Sea is my playground, and Turkey controls the front door. I generally see that as unacceptable.

you can take anything from colony, but you'll have to ask. if you annex, money and anything will be your's by default, you'll be fighting, researching, producing instead of asking your colonies to give you resources for fighting, researching, producing... :) so, annex.

PS seas are not important here, game greatly disbalanced and AI suck, so you make things more complicated than they deserve. you can have all world without navy, tanks, recon... just 3 types of untis needed (not even classes).

Which one you mean? Fighter bomber/Inf/AA? That's basicly all i use.
1 -Declare war
2 -Grab piece of land
3 -Camp city
4 -Lemmings die so GG
SR2020 way more advanced. Also all regions have light inf and engineer which helps imho.
Gameplay 1st

Transport Airplanes for resupply & Infantry (armored is best) .. and interceptors to destroy enemy fighter bombers and fighters attacking my transports.

i use
1 - inf (spec forces as real punchers and light inf for mobility)
2 - AA, with max mid air rating,
3 - strat bombers, they can bomb from mid-air and ignore most aa fire.
everything else is just support or waste of money, like transport for spec forces. also using many gun emplacements, as "eternal" artillery.

again i started as Butan and successfully conquering China. AI must treat any land losses as a reason to send half of army, as IRL. and it must be correctly managed task force, not a bunch of cockroaches. it is so simple to teach AI to group his forces and use command "escort 1 hex behind", it'll make game so much more challenging, instead of beating kids like now
