Is there a reason why they are dramatically lower in 2020?

The question of what to update was debated in studio a few times. In the end, we wanted to try and recreate SR2020 in SR Ultimate. We tried to create the same game balance that existed previously (with mixed levels of success).

This is a giant ball of string - if we update one, we'll want to update them all and then there is no end to it. Plus, we don't know what GDP/c will be 6 years from now. Same for population, birth rates, social spending, etc.

It is easily modded and something we may update as development continues.

Im sure there are people here that can help you doing the mass work. Updating GDP and testing, im sure there are people who might be able to help. Now there are differrences of +10K gdp and i dont think that was the case in sr 2020.

Yea I didn't realize how far off the GDPs were.

Not only that, but the OP quoted GDP (PPP), which this game does not use because it does not simulate purchasing power parities between countries. Under the PPP system, China's economy is the biggest in the world, but if you use nominal GDP, it is still several trillions smaller than the USA's.
