Some questions about this awesome game!
I totally love the Supreme Ruler series and have played every game since 2020. There is some few things I wonder about SRUltimate.
1. Some nations have huge population and so much more space for bigger military, and after nuclear war there is also few bases within the super powers. I wonder, does the AI build new military bases and/or rebuild destroyed ones? I know this was not possible on any games until the scripted events of 1936...
2. Is there any improvements regarding online play? I used to play with my friend but every time one of us got several glitches that lead to seeing "ghost" wars and battles going on... I know it is because of lag and bad connection, but as in Europa Universalis, if there was lag it decreased time automatic. So is the online easier without those glitches now?
3. I think I read somewhere that you are implementing AI use of aircraft carriers, when will this happen?
4. I noticed something that ruined my gameplay in Supreme Ruler 1936. I played as Germany and when I got in a war against Britain, my "generals/minister" sent huge amounts of my armies and landed them (without protection or escort) in London. I had 3 options: 1, let this happen. 2, use all my time and send every transport ship back to homeland. 3, lock my "general/minister" from having control over my armie (I don't want this to happen because I like some of its work when it comes to land warfare). Is the "generals/minister" smarter about this now? Or is there any options to make an oversea invasion locked out of "generals/minister" control?
Regards

Re: Some questions about this awesome game!
1. Yes - Nations build new facilities, both military and non military. It seems to happen especially during wartime but I can't prove that.
2. I was just playing multi on very fast speed with Dale last night. We didn't have any sync issues. That depends on your connection too
3. Not sure.
4. I don't THINK there is an option to avoid overseas invasion. I do know that the Germany AI was changed a bit recently. A few patches ago, they would frequently throw everything they had at the British islands (and win often). Now, they seem to avoid it. You can also set battle zone control to make the UK very low priority for your troops.

I've never had a problem locking my military advisor out of making decisions, but as I recall it's a 2-step process. You not only have to lock the minister out of Military Spending and Garrison Control, but also the "Global Rules of Engagement" under the Defense tab, where you can lock the minister out of controlling units.
I'm always a tyrannical control freak, as I've had too many cases of the AI making horrible decisions and moving my military where it does no good. So, upon starting a fresh game I go through every tab I can find and activate any lock icons I see, even trade and economy. If I can't do a better job than the AI, then I suck.
In my current SRU game, I'm having zero problems with units doing what I didn't tell them to do.

I am of a similar mind. However, I usually set my air units initiative to max. Often times the same for my navy if it is big enough. I prefer to focus solely on my ground forces.mfisher12 wrote:I've never had a problem locking my military advisor out of making decisions, but as I recall it's a 2-step process. I know about ai building new facilities, but not sure about new complexes. Can the ai build complexes where they did not exist before?

Yes, that is what I am wondering about. The same goes about other kinds of complexes, like industrial.medic911 wrote:I know about ai building new facilities, but not sure about new complexes. Can the ai build complexes where they did not exist before?
Its not fun if over 100 different nations is in the world but you are the only one actually taking use of the world, its resources and new military complexes...

Re: Some questions about this awesome game!
In the game I'm playing when I don't have time to write AARs, I liberated my part of Kurdistan in Iraq. It's been a year and they have a 3billion treasury, but I've seen no new complexes or facilities yet. I should have not built them a barracks before liberating them, that would have maybe tested the military complex question... then again, I suppose they would just build one in the capitol.
Anyone seen a new complex yet?

As far as I know, if BG hasn't changed it for SRU, AI was never able to build complexes. AI was only able to build buildings in existing complexes depending on availability of cash and ind goods and what not...

So even after 3-4 games, they still can't build new complexes? That is rather bad... Most of us play with the computers and the challenge would be much greater if the enemy would build new complexes.

The AI knowing how to build complexes was added for SR1936. The usual limits of needing money and materials exists.

Sweet, nice addition!
Now all i need to do then is flood some industrial and military goods to Kurdistan, and maybe a couple billion dollars, then they might build a fabrication place or an airbase? I wanted to give them my outdated aircraft, but i forgot to build them an airbase before i released the territory :(

Awesome! So i am definitely going to see some nations (with good economy and resources) building new military complexes and industrial complexesBalthagor wrote:The AI knowing how to build complexes was added for SR1936. The usual limits of needing money and materials exists.
